Question 1:
अधोलिखितं गद्यांशं पठित्वा प्रश्नानां विकल्पात्मकोत्तेरेभ्यः उचिततमम् उत्तरं चिनुत –
लौहपुरुषः सरदारवल्लभभाईपटेलः जन्मतः कृषकः आसीत् । तस्य जन्म 1875 तमे ख्रीष्टाब्दे गुर्जरप्रदेशे अभवत् । तस्य पिता 1857 वर्षस्य प्रथमस्वतन्त्रतायुद्धे सहभागी आसीत् । यद्यपि अयं महापुरुषः आङ्ग्लदेशात् विधिपरीक्षायां प्रथमश्रेण्यां प्रथमं स्थानं लब्ध्वा अधिवक्ता जातः, तथापि सः स्वकीयं सम्पूर्ण जीवनम् भारतस्य स्वतन्त्रता-संग्रामाय अर्पितवान्। सः बारदोली - कृषकाणाम् आन्दोलनस्य सफलं नेतृत्वं अकरोत्। तेन कारणेन महात्मा गान्धिना 'सरदार' इति उपाधिना सम्मानितः । गुर्जरप्रदेशे जलौघ - पीडितानां भूकम्पपीडितानां च एषः अहर्निशं सेवाम् अकरोत् ।
अनेकवारं सः कारागारे पातितः । तस्य आङ्ग्लाधिकारिभिः प्रताडिता । 1942 तमे वर्षे, 'भारतं त्यजत' इति वृद्धा माता आन्दोलने स अकथयत् न केवलं भारतं त्यजत अपितु एशियामेव त्यजत इति वक्तव्यम्। स्वतन्त्रभारतस्य स उपप्रधानमन्त्री अभवत्। भारतं तदा अनेकेषु लघुराज्येषु विभक्तम् आसीत् । सः स्वनीतिचातुर्येण षट्शतस्वदेशीय राज्यानाम् अखण्डे भारते विलयम् अकरोत् ।
लौहपुरुषः श्रीपटेलः अतीव अनुशासनप्रियः आसीत्। भारतस्य वर्तमान स्वरूपं तस्य एव सत्प्रयत्नानां परिणामः ।
'त्यजत' इति क्रियापदं कस्मिन् लकारे प्रयुक्तः

She watched the boy as he climbed other platform and it was not until he had disappeared in the crowd that she relaxed her hold on my arm. She smiled at me reassuringly and took my hand again: but her fingers trembled against mine/
