The UGC NET English Exam is a national-level eligibility test conducted by the National Testing Agency on behalf of the University Grants Commission for candidates aspiring to become Assistant Professors or obtain Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in the field of English. The examination evaluates a candidate’s understanding of English literature, literary criticism, linguistics, cultural studies, and language theory. This paper is compulsory for all candidates and is designed to test reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.
