Preparation Tips

  • Master the Basics: For TGT exams, focus on the H.P. Board syllabus for classes VI to VIII, but ensure your conceptual depth reaches the $10+2$ level.
  • Focus on Child Psychology: This section is common to most papers. Study diverse learner needs, characteristics of the 11-14 age group (for TGT), and effective teaching-learning processes.
  • Stay Updated with HP GK: General Awareness includes a significant portion of Himachal Pradesh’s geography, history, and current affairs. Dedicate time daily to state-specific news.
  • Practice with OMR Sheets: Since the exam uses OMR sheets, practice shading circles correctly with a blue/black ballpoint pen. Remember, once marked, a response cannot be changed.
  • Time Management: With 150 minutes for 150 questions, you have exactly one minute per question. Practice previous years’ papers to improve your speed.
  • Utilize the “No Negative Marking” Rule: Since there is no penalty for wrong answers, ensure you attempt all 150 questions.
