SSC GD: Preparation Tips

  1. Master the Basics: Since the level is matriculation, focus on NCERT-level mathematics and basic grammar.
  2. Language Strategy: Choose between Hindi or English based on your comfort level early on, as this can be a scoring section.
  3. Current Affairs: Regularly read newspapers focusing on sports, neighboring countries, and awards, as these are specifically highlighted in the syllabus.
  4. Mock Tests: Utilize the ‘Mock Test’ provided on the SSC website to get used to the online interface and the 60-minute time constraint.
  5. Physical Conditioning: Don’t wait for the CBE results to start running. Building stamina for the 5km/1.6km race takes months of consistent effort.
  6. Accuracy over Speed: With a 0.25 negative marking, avoid blind guessing. Focus on accuracy to ensure your normalized score remains high.
  7. Document Readiness: Ensure your Domicile/Permanent Residential Certificate is valid and matches the state you apply from, as errors here lead to immediate cancellation
