Preparation Tips

  • Focus on Depth and Understanding: The Main Examination aims to evaluate your overall intellectual traits and your depth of understanding rather than just your memory and range of information. You should focus on conceptual clarity over rote memorization.
  • Cultivate Analytical Skills: The questions are specifically designed to test your ability to analyze and take a reasoned view on conflicting socio-economic goals, objectives, and demands.
  • Be Concise and Exact: Credit is strictly given for orderly, effective, and exact expression, combined with a due economy of words in all subjects. Your answers should be relevant, meaningful, and succinct.
  • Avoid Superficiality: Ensure your preparation is thorough, as marks will not be allotted for mere superficial knowledge.
  • Maintain General Awareness: The General Studies papers are framed so that a well-educated person can tackle them without highly specialized study. You should maintain an intelligent interest in current events and modern discoveries, which will also be tested during the Personality Test.
  • Practice Good Handwriting: Write clearly. If a candidate’s handwriting is not easily legible, a deduction will be made from the total marks otherwise accruing to them.
