The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially announced the Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSE) Result 2026. The UPSC Prelims Examination was conducted on 24 May 2026 across various examination centres in India. Following the examination, the Commission released the provisional answer key and invited objections from candidates, with the objection window remaining open until 31 May 2026.

After evaluating the responses and reviewing objections, UPSC has now declared the Prelims Result 2026. Candidates who have qualified in the Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear for the Civil Services Main Examination, which is the next stage of the selection process. Minimum QualificationA candidate must have a Graduate degree (like B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., B.E., etc.) from a recognized University.
Candidates Awaiting ResultsCandidates who have appeared for their final graduation exam and are waiting for the result can also apply. They must provide proof of passing the exam before the Main Examination.

UPSC IAS/IFS Result Download Process

Step 1: Visit the official UPSC website.

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the “What’s New” or “Examination” section.

Step 3: Find and click on the link “Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2026 Result” or “Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination, 2026 Result.”

Step 4: The result PDF will open on your screen.

Step 5: Press Ctrl + F and enter your Roll Number to search for your result.

Step 6: If your roll number appears in the list, you have qualified for the next stage of the examination.

Step 7: Download the result PDF and save it for future reference.

Step 8: Take a printout of the result for use during the Main Examination and further selection process.
