Preparation Tips for RRB JHT

  • Master the Core Languages: Since 50% of the CBT questions are dedicated to language proficiency (30% Hindi and 20% English), this section requires your utmost attention. Ensure your grammar rules, vocabulary, and comprehension skills are refined up to the 12th standard level to score highly in these areas.
  • Prioritize the CBT Score: Your final selection hinges primarily on the Computer Based Test. The merit list for the Junior Translator role will be generated based on the marks obtained in the CBT alone. Treat the General Knowledge, Intelligence, Arithmetic, and Computer basics sections with equal importance to maximize your overall score.
  • Navigate Negative Marking Carefully: The exam imposes a penalty of 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer. Practice intelligent guessing and focus on high-accuracy attempts rather than trying to solve every single question.
  • Prepare for the Translation Test Early: Although the Translation Test is not a part of the main merit ranking, failing it will eliminate you from the recruitment process. You must secure the qualifying 60% marks. Regularly practice translating official documents, administrative terminology, and general passages from Hindi to English and vice-versa.
  • Aim High for Shortlisting: To reach the Translation Test stage, you need to perform exceptionally well in the CBT. The RRB will shortlist candidates up to 10 times the number of total vacancies based on CBT merit. Ensure your mock test scores place you well within this competitive bracket
