BPSC APS & WMO: Preparation Tips

  1. Capitalize on the Objective Format and Shift Timings Since both papers are purely objective, extensive practice with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) is non-negotiable. You will be tasked with solving 125 questions in just 120 minutes per paper, leaving less than a minute per question. Start taking full-length mock tests strictly during the official exam hours—10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 02:30 PM to 04:30 PM—to condition your focus.
  2. Deep Dive into Waste Management Paper-II determines half of your total score and tests highly specialized concepts. Revisit the core textbooks from your B.Sc., B.E., or B.Tech programs. Focus heavily on the engineering and chemical principles governing “Solid and Liquid Waste Management,” as this is the exact title and theme of the second paper.
  3. Target the Qualifying Thresholds Strategically Do not underestimate the minimum qualifying marks. With General category candidates needing 40% and reserved categories needing between 32% to 36.5%, structure your preparation to easily clear these baselines in both General Studies and your technical paper. Remember, falling below this percentage in the written test automatically disqualifies you, regardless of how many vacancies are left open.
  4. Organize Your Application and Documents Now BPSC mandates a One Time Registration (OTR) profile on their portal (bpsconline.bihar.gov.in) before applying. You will need to upload your essential documents via DigiLocker. Ensure that all your crucial paperwork—including your degree certificates, caste certificates, and non-creamy layer certificates—are officially issued on or before the application deadline of September 30, 2025. Failing to present these original, valid documents during the mandatory document verification stage will result in immediate exclusion from the merit list.
  5. Maximize Your Score (No Interview Safety Net) Because the BPSC has completely eliminated the interview round for this recruitment, your written score is the only variable you can control. There is no opportunity to charm an interview panel or explain away a low test score. Treat the 200 marks of the written exam as your sole battleground.
