- Master the Matriculation Basics: Since the BPSSC clearly specifies that the written exam difficulty will be of the Bihar School Examination Board’s 10th class level, your primary focus should be on standard school textbooks. Revise foundational concepts in Mathematics and Science subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology. For Social Science, ensure you are well-versed in standard historical events, basic geography, economic principles, and civic duties. Building a strong foundation with NCERT or state board textbooks is highly recommended.
- Emphasize General Knowledge and Current Affairs: General Knowledge and Current Affairs are pivotal scoring areas. Cultivate a daily habit of reading reputable newspapers to stay updated on national, international, and state-level (Bihar) current events. Create short notes on recent appointments, sports events, government schemes, and economic policies. Revision of these notes will give you an edge in the objective paper.
- Practice OMR Based Mock Tests: The exam will be conducted using offline OMR sheets. Regularly practicing offline mock tests will help you manage the 2-hour duration effectively. It will also reduce the chances of bubbling errors on the final day. Focus on attempting all 100 questions since you earn one mark for every correct response. Keep in mind you need at least 30% to qualify, but you should aim much higher to comfortably make it to the physical test shortlist.

- Rigorous Physical Preparation (PET): The final merit list will be exclusively based on the total marks obtained in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), making it the most important phase of your preparation. The PET carries a total of 100 marks divided across three events: Running (Maximum 50 marks), Shot Put (Maximum 25 marks), and High Jump (Maximum 25 marks).
- Running: Start building your cardiovascular stamina immediately. Men must complete a 1.6 km run in a maximum of 6 minutes, and women must complete a 1 km run in 5 minutes. To score the full 50 marks, men must finish in under 5 minutes, and women must finish in under 4 minutes.
- Shot Put & High Jump: Practice the correct techniques for throwing the 16-pound (for men) or 12-pound (for women) shot put. Also, train safely to clear the high jump benchmarks, which is a minimum of 4 feet for men and 3 feet for women. You will get a maximum of three attempts to pass the shot put and high jump events.
