Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this job, you must meet all the rules for education and age.
Educational Qualification
You must have these two things to be eligible:
- GATE Score: You must have passed the GATE exam in 2023, 2024, or 2025. Your score must be in one of these subjects:
- Electronics & Communication (GATE code: EC)
- Computer Science & Information Technology (GATE code: CS)
- Educational Degree: You also need a valid GATE score and one of the following degrees from a school the government recognizes:
- A B.E or B.Tech degree in: Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science & Engineering.
- OR
- A Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in: Electronics, Computer Science, Physics with Electronics, or Electronics & Communication.
- OR
- A Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree.
Age Limit
- You must be between 18 and 27 years old on the last day to apply, which is November 16, 2025.
Rules for Older Ages
Some groups of people can be older than 27:
- SC/ST candidates: Can be 5 years older.
- OBC candidates: Can be 3 years older.
- Current government workers: Can be up to 40 years old if they are Central Government civilian employees and have worked for 3 straight years.
- Widows, divorced women, and women separated from their husbands (who have not remarried):
- Up to 35 years old (for General/UR category).
- Up to 38 years old (for OBC category).
- Up to 40 years old (for SC/ST category).
- Ex-Servicemen (ESM): Age rules are based on government standards.

Application Fee
The fee has two parts:
- Recruitment Processing Charges: Rs. 100
- Examination Fee: Rs. 100
Here is what you have to pay:
- Men in the UR, EWS, and OBC categories: Must pay both the processing charge (Rs. 100) and the exam fee (Rs. 100). Total is Rs. 200.
- All SC/ST candidates, all women, and eligible Ex-Servicemen: Only pay the processing charge (Rs. 100). They do not have to pay the exam fee. Total is Rs. 100.
You can pay online (with a debit card, credit card, UPI, or internet banking) or pay offline using an SBI Challan.
Salary
This job pays well.
- Pay Level: Level 7, which means the basic pay is between Rs. 44,900 and Rs. 1,42,400.
- Extra Pay:
- You get a “Special Security Allowance,” which is 20% of your basic pay.
- You can get paid extra cash if you work on holidays (up to a limit of 30 days).
Selection process
- Shortlisting: First, they will pick candidates based on their GATE scores (from 2023, 2024, or 2025). They will choose 10 times the number of open jobs.
- Skill Test: The chosen candidates will take a Skill Test. This will be a hands-on, practical test to see your technical skills for the job.
- Interview: If you pass the skill test, you will have an interview. The interview will check your knowledge of your subject and your communication skills.
A final list of selected candidates will be made. This list will be based on your combined results from your GATE score, the Skill Test, and the Interview.

Syllabus
