Preparation Tips

  1. Leverage the “No Negative Marking” Rule: Because there is absolutely no penalty for wrong answers, make it your golden rule to never leave a question blank. Even if you are unsure, use the process of elimination and make an educated guess.
  2. Master Time Management: You have 150 minutes to solve 150 questions. That equates to exactly one minute per question. Practice taking full-length mock tests with a timer to build your speed, especially for the Mathematics and Science sections which can be calculation-heavy.
  3. Focus on Pedagogy First: Child Development and Pedagogy is the backbone of this exam. Understanding the core psychological theories (like Piaget, Vygotsky, and Thorndike) will not only help you in the 30-mark dedicated section but will also assist you in answering the pedagogical questions embedded within the Language, Math, and Environment/Social Studies sections.
  4. Be Meticulous with the OMR Sheet: The notification explicitly warns that errors in filling out your OMR sheet (like wrong Registration Number, Roll Number, or Booklet Series) will result in your sheet not being evaluated by the computerized system. Practice filling out sample OMR bubbles accurately so you don’t lose out on a technicality!
  5. Revise the UP State Board Curriculum: For Environmental Studies (Paper 1) and your subject-specific sections (Paper 2), heavily base your studies on the textbooks provided by the Basic Education Department of Uttar Pradesh (Classes 1-8). Questions regarding local geography, UP administration, and specific state characteristics frequently appear.
