UPPSC Food Safety Officer: Exam Pattern
The selection process is divided into three successive stages:
1. Preliminary Examination (Qualifying)
The Prelims consist of two objective-type papers conducted on OMR sheets.
- Paper I (General Studies I): 200 marks, 150 questions, 2 hours. This paper determines the merit for qualifying for the Main exam.
- Paper II (General Studies II/CSAT): 200 marks, 100 questions, 2 hours. This is a qualifying paper where candidates must score at least 33%.
- Negative Marking: One-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every wrong answer.
2. Main (Written) Examination
Candidates who pass the Prelims move to the Conventional (Written) stage.

- Master the “UP Special” Content: Since Papers V and VI of the Mains are dedicated to Uttar Pradesh, focus heavily on the state’s agriculture, food policies, and geography.
