SBI PO Pre Exam Admit Card: Eligibility

CriteriaEligibility Details 
Educational Qualification
  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent.
  • Candidates possessing professional qualifications like Medical, Engineering, CA, Cost Accountant, etc., are also eligible.
Age Limit
  • Minimum: 21 years
  • Maximum: 30 years

(Candidate must have been born not later than 01.04.2005 and not earlier than 02.04.1996, both days inclusive).

CIBIL Score / Status
  • Candidates must have a clean credit history. Defaultors in loan/credit card repayments must regularize or clear outstanding dues before joining.

SBI PO Pre Exam Admit Card: Selection Process

Selection PhaseDetails
Phase I – Preliminary ExaminationThe Preliminary Examination is the first stage of the SBI PO selection process. It is an online objective-type test carrying 100 marks.

The exam consists of three sections:

  • English Language
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reasoning Ability

Candidates must qualify the sectional and overall cut-off marks decided by SBI to become eligible for the Main Examination. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are used only for shortlisting candidates and are not considered in the final merit list.

Phase II – Main ExaminationCandidates who qualify the Preliminary Examination are called for the Main Examination. This stage consists of Objective and Descriptive Tests with a total of 230 marks.

The Objective Test includes

  • Reasoning & Computer Aptitude
  • Data Analysis & Interpretation
  • General/Economy/Banking Awareness
  • English Language

while the Descriptive Test evaluates candidates’ writing skills through Essay and Letter Writing. Performance in the Main Examination plays a significant role in the final selection process.

Phase III – Psychometric Test, Group Exercise & InterviewCandidates shortlisted from the Main Examination are required to appear for the Psychometric Test, followed by the Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview. The Psychometric Test is conducted to assess the candidate’s personality profile and behavioural traits, while the Group Exercise and Interview evaluate communication skills, leadership qualities, decision-making ability, confidence, and overall suitability for the Probationary Officer post. The Group Exercise and Interview carry a combined total of 50 marks.
Final Selection & Merit ListThe final merit list is prepared by considering the normalized marks of the Main Examination (75% weightage) and the Group Exercise & Interview (25% weightage). The Preliminary Examination marks are not included in the final merit calculation. Candidates securing the highest combined scores, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria and document verification requirements, are selected for appointment as Probationary Officers (PO) in the State Bank of India.

SBI PO Pre Exam Admit Card: Download Process

  • As a First step candidates have to visit official website of State bank of india which is : sbi.co.in
  • As a next step candidates have to click on the Career Option in the left bottom side.
  • Click on the JOIN SBI link on the menu bar and then click on the “Current Openings” tab.
  • Search for “Recruitment of Probationary Officers” in the Current Opening section and then click on it.
  • Click on “Call Letter for Prelims Exam”, and a new page opens.
  • Select Admit Card language and enter your Registration Number/Roll No. & Password/DOB generated at the time of registration.
  • Download your SBI PO Admit Card 2026 and keep a copy for future reference.
