RPSC Assistant Engineer: Preparation Tips

  • Master the Basics (B.E. Level): The technical papers for both Prelims and Mains are based on the Bachelor’s degree level. Ensure your core engineering concepts are rock solid.
  • Focus on Rajasthan General Knowledge: A significant portion of the Preliminary exam and the interview assesses your knowledge of Rajasthan’s geography, culture, and economy. Use specialized books for Rajasthan GK.
  • Language Proficiency: Do not ignore Paper I (Hindi) in the Main exam. While it is at a Senior Secondary level, it is a compulsory paper where you must score at least 35%.
  • Practice Descriptive Writing: Unlike many other exams, the RPSC A.En Main exam is descriptive (conventional type). Practice explaining engineering concepts and solving complex problems clearly on paper. Marks are deducted for illegible handwriting.
  • Note the New OMR Rules: For the Preliminary exam, every question now has five options. If you wish to skip a question, you must darken the 5th circle. Failing to darken any circle results in a 1/3 mark deduction, and leaving more than 10% of questions blank leads to disqualification.
  • One-Time Registration (OTR) Accuracy: Ensure your OTR details (Name, DOB, Gender) match your secondary education documents exactly, as these cannot be changed after registration
