RBI Assistant 2026: Exam Pattern 

The examination is conducted online and follows a specific structure for both phases. Note that negative marking of 1/4th applies to both Prelims and Mains for every wrong answer.

3. Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

Candidates qualifying the Main exam (approx. 2 times the vacancies) must undergo the LPT. It is conducted in the local language of the state where the recruiting office is located. For example, candidates for Mumbai must be proficient in Marathi or Konkani. Failure to be proficient results in disqualification.
