Stage-I: Computer Based Test (CBT)

The CBT is the primary filter for the recruitment process. It consists of two mandatory papers.

Paper-I (Merit Determining)

This paper consists of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The marks obtained here are used to determine the final merit list.

This is a test of the Punjabi language at the matriculation standard. Note: Marks from Paper-II are not counted toward the final merit list.

Stage-II: Physical Screening (PST) and Measurement (PMT)

Candidates who meet the minimum qualifying marks in Stage-I will be shortlisted based on merit for Stage-II. Both tests are qualifying in nature.

Candidates must meet the following minimum height requirements to qualify:

Male: 5 feet 7 inches (170.2 cms)

Female/Transgender: 5 feet 2 inches (157.5 cms)

2. Physical Screening Test (PST)

Candidates must pass all events in their category; failing even one results in disqualification.

Physical Standards and Testing (Stage-II)

Candidates must meet the following minimum height requirements:

  • Male: 5 feet 7 inches (170.2 cms)

PST Events

  • For Males: 1600m race in 6:30 mins, Long Jump (3.80m), and High Jump (1.10m).
  • For Females: 800m race in 4:30 mins, Long Jump (3.00m), and High Jump (0.95m).
  • Ex-Servicemen (over 35): 1400m Walk/Run in 12 mins and 10 Full Squats within 3 mins (for males).

Preparation Tips 

  1. Master the Punjabi Language: Since Paper-II is mandatory and requires a 50% score, do not neglect your Punjabi grammar and vocabulary.
  2. Focus on Punjab GK: With 35 questions in the General Awareness section, a deep understanding of Punjab’s history, culture, and economy is vital for a high merit score.
  3. Practice Numerical Speed: The Quantitative Aptitude section covers standard 10th-grade math. Practice daily to improve speed and accuracy, as there is no negative marking.
  4. Early Physical Training: Don’t wait for the CBT results to start running. The PST is “qualifying,” but failing even one event (like the Long Jump) will disqualify you immediately.
