National Insurance NICL Assistant : Selection Process
| Selection Stage | Detailed Description |

| Phase I – Preliminary Examination (Online) | The Preliminary Examination is the first stage of the selection process. It is conducted in online mode and serves as a screening test to shortlist candidates for the Main Examination. The exam generally includes sections such as - English Language
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Reasoning Ability.
Marks obtained in this stage are usually not considered for the final merit list, but candidates must secure the required cut-off marks to qualify for the next phase. |
| Phase II – Main Examination (Online) | Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination are invited to appear for the Main Examination. This online test is more comprehensive and evaluates candidates on subjects such as- Reasoning
- Quantitative Aptitude
- English Language
- General/Economy/Banking Awareness
- Computer Knowledge (as per the official notification).
The marks obtained in the Main Examination are considered for preparing the final merit list, subject to qualifying the Regional Language Test. |
| Regional Language Test (Qualifying Only, No Marks) | Candidates shortlisted after the Main Examination must appear for the Regional Language Test. This test is conducted to assess the candidate’s ability to read, write, speak, and understand the local language of the state or region for which they have applied. This is a qualifying test only, and no marks are awarded for it. However, candidates must qualify this test to be considered for final selection. Failure to qualify in the Regional Language Test will lead to disqualification, irrespective of the Main Examination score. |
