Preparation Tips

  1. Master the PCB Basics: Since the exam standard is 10+2, revisit your NCERT or board textbooks for Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. Biology is particularly vital given the branch you are applying for.
  2. Practice Time Management: You have only 60 minutes for 100 questions. Practice solving sample papers available on the official Navy website to improve your speed and accuracy.
  3. Be Mindful of Negative Marking: With a 0.25 penalty for wrong answers, avoid blind guessing. Focus on accuracy to maintain a high aggregate score.
  4. Early Physical Training: Do not wait for the INET results to start running. Building the stamina for a 1.6 km run in 6:30 minutes takes consistent effort.
  5. Documentation Readiness: Ensure your Domicile, NCC ‘C’ certificates (if applicable), and 10+2 marksheets are original and ready. NCC ‘C’ holders are notably exempt from Stage I (INET) and move directly to Stage II.
  6. Medical Hygiene: Prior to the exam, the Navy advises getting your ears cleaned for wax and tartar removed from your teeth to avoid minor rejections
