• Understand the Graduate-Level Expectation: The General Studies papers for both the Preliminary and Main examinations are set at a graduate-level standard. You should focus your study materials on standard university-level textbooks and comprehensive resources to build a deep, analytical understanding of the subjects rather than relying purely on surface-level facts.
• Don’t Ignore the Qualifying Languages: While the marks for the Gujarati and English papers in the Main examination are not added to your final ranking, you must score a minimum of 25% in each to qualify. Failing to secure these qualifying marks will result in your disqualification from the rest of the process, regardless of how well you perform in other papers. Dedicate time to practice writing descriptive answers in both languages, keeping the Gujarat Board Higher Secondary educational standards in mind.
• Master the Art of Essay Writing: With Paper 3 dedicated entirely to Essay writing and carrying a massive 250 marks, developing strong articulation and structuring skills is paramount. Unreserved category candidates must remember to pay the Rs. 100 application fee plus applicable postal or service charges. Reserved categories (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS of Gujarat origin), physically disabled candidates, and ex-servicemen are exempt from this fee.
