The DSSSB TGT exam follows a One-Tier (Technical/Teaching) pattern consisting of 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to be completed in 2 hours.

Important Note: Negative marking of 0.25 marks is applicable for every wrong answer.

Part 1: Exam Syllabus

The examination is a One-Tier (Teaching) test consisting of 200 marks, divided into two sections.

Section A: General Paper (Common for All Posts)

This section assesses general aptitude and carries 100 marks (20 marks per subject).

Hindi Language	Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Reading Comprehension, and correct usage of words.
English Language	Reading Comprehension, Word Power, Articles, Narrations, Prepositions, Punctuations, Verbs, Tenses, and Fill in the Blanks.

Section B: Subject-Specific Paper

This section carries 100 marks and is based on your chosen teaching subject.

Core Subject: Questions based on the specific subject you are applying for (Mathematics, English, Natural Science, etc.).
Teaching Methodology: Questions related to pedagogy, B.Ed. curriculum, child development, and modern teaching techniques.

DSSSB TGT: Preparation Tips

A strategic approach is required to manage 200 questions in 120 minutes.

1. Time Management Strategy

The 60-Second Rule: Never spend more than 60 seconds on a single question. If a question is difficult, skip it and move forward.
Order of Attempt: Solve easier sections like Reasoning and Languages first to build confidence and save time for the technical Subject Concerned section.

2. Subject-Wise Strategy

Mathematics & Reasoning	Practice 20-25 questions daily. Focus on shortcut tricks for calculation to save time in the numerical section.
General Awareness	Focus heavily on Delhi-specific GK and national current affairs from the last 6 months.
Subject Section (B)	This is non-negotiable. Refer to NCERT books (Class 6 to 10) for basics and standard reference books for advanced graduation-level concepts.
Languages	Read daily editorials in both Hindi and English to naturally improve vocabulary and comprehension speed.

3. Performance & Revision

Mock Tests: Take 3-5 mock tests per week to simulate real exam pressure and identify your weak spots.
Accuracy over Volume: Remember there is a 0.25 negative marking for every wrong answer. It is better to skip a question than to guess blindly.
Weekly Revision: Dedicate your Sundays solely to revising the week’s topics and clarifying doubts. Discipline is more effective than last-minute cramming.
