CRPF Technical & Tradesman: Preparation Tips
:Prepare for Negative Marking: Since there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer in the CBT, practice accuracy over guesswork. Take mock tests to train yourself to only attempt questions you are confident about.
- Focus on Matriculation Basics: The entire CBT is based on a 10th-grade difficulty level. Brush up on your high school mathematics, basic grammar, and fundamental reasoning skills rather than studying overly complex degree-level concepts.
- Do Not Neglect Physical Fitness: The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) must be cleared before you can even take the CBT.
- Male candidates applying for roles like Driver, Motor Mechanic, Painter, or Carpenter must practice running 5 Kms in 24 minutes.
- Female candidates for similar roles must practice running 1.6 Kms in 8.30 minutes.
- Master Your Specific Trade: The Trade Test is a practical assessment and is qualifying in nature. Out of 50 marks, you must secure at least 20 marks to qualify. Ensure you have hands-on experience in the specific activities of your applied trade, such as mixing cement for a Mason, handling tools for a Mechanic, or cooking for 100 men if applying as a Cook.
- Ensure Documentation Accuracy: The recruitment is strictly based on domicile. Ensure your Domicile/Permanent Residence Certificate matches the State/UT you select in your online application perfectly. Any variation found during Document Verification will lead to immediate cancellation of your candidature. Furthermore, you must carry two colored printouts of your admit card to every stage of the exam.
