UPSC CSE 2026 Examination : Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
- Candidate को भारतीय नागरिक होना चाहिए।
Age Limit (As of August 1, 2026) :

Educational Qualification:
| Qualification | Details |
| Minimum Qualification | A candidate must have a Graduate degree (like B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., B.E., etc.) from a recognized University. |
| Candidates Awaiting Results | Candidates who have appeared for their final graduation exam and are waiting for the result can also apply. They must provide proof of passing the exam before the Main Examination. |
- Note: Preliminary Examination में किसी भी एक पेपर में शामिल होना भी एक Attempt माना जाता है।
UPSC CSE 2026 Examination : Application Fee and Process
Application Process:
Step 1: Visit UPSC Website: सबसे पहले जाएं UPSC की official website पर: https://upsconline.nic.in|
Step 2: One-Time Registration (OTR) करें|
- अगर आपने पहले कभी UPSC के लिए apply नहीं किया है तो सबसे पहले One-Time Registration (OTR) करना जरूरी है|
- “One-Time Registration for UPSC Exams” पर क्लिक करें|
- अपनी बेसिक जानकारी भरें: जैसे नाम, DOB, Email ID, Mobile Number|
- उसके बाद एक Strong पासवर्ड Create करें और OTP से Verify करें|
- लॉगिन ID और पासवर्ड Safe रखें भविष्य के Use के लिए|
- OTR केवल एक बार करना होता है और future exams के लिए वही काम आएगा|
Step 3: Apply for Civil Services Examination (CSE)
- OTR करने के बाद, आपको “Apply Online for Various Exams” सेक्शन में जाना है और वहाँ पर Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination लिंक पर क्लिक करना है।
Step 4: Application Form Fill करें
- अब दो parts में form भरना होगा:
Part I: Basic Details
- Name, Father’s Name, DOB, Gender, Category
- Educational qualifications
- Exam center preference
- IPS को First/Second Preference में जरूर चुने| (cadre preference)
Part II: Documents Upload
- Upload Recent Passport Size Photo and Signature
Step: 5 Pay application fee (if applicable):
- ₹100 for General/OBC Male Candidates.
- SC/ST/PwD/Female candidates के लिए कोई फीस नहीं है|
Step 6: Final Submission and Print
- अंतिम फॉर्म सबमिट करने से पहले Preview करके चेक कर लें|
- Successfully सबमिट करने के बाद Confirmation पेज को डाउनलोड करें|
- Future use के लिए application form और fee receipt save करके रखें

UPSC CSE 2026 Examination:Selection Process
Civil Services परीक्षा में दो चरण होते हैं:
1. Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective Type):
- यह चरण Main परीक्षा के लिए Candidates को चुनने के लिए होती है। Prelims के अंकों को Final Ranking में Count नहीं किया जाता है| यह सिर्फ Screening टेस्ट होता है।
2. Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written + Interview):
इस चरण में दो भाग होते हैं:
- (a) Written Examination: इसमें 9 Descriptive (essay type) Papers होते हैं।
- (b) Interview / Personality Test: लिखित परीक्षा में Minimum Qualifying अंकों लाने वाले Candidates को Interview के लिए बुलाया जाता है।
अंतिम सूची Candidate के Main Exam (Written) + Interview/Personality Test के कुल अंकों के आधार पर Decide होती है।
UPSC CSE 2026 Examination :Exam Pattern
Preliminary Examination Pattern :

- Note 1: पेपर II (CSAT) एक Qualifying पेपर है। Candidate को इसमें कम से कम 33% Marks लाने जरूरी हैं।
- Note 2: Preliminary परीक्षा के दोनों Papers में Negative मार्किंग होती है। हर गलत उत्तर के लिए उस प्रश्न के Marks का one-third (0.33) Cut किया जाता है।
- Note 3: पेपर I के अंकों से Decide होता है कि Candidate Main परीक्षा के लिए Qualify करेगा या नहीं, शर्त यह है कि पेपर II में 33% marks भी हों।
