UPSC CDS II 2026 Recruitment : Eligibility

Eligibility CriteriaDetails

• A Citizen of India, OR 

• A subject of Nepal/Bhutan, OR 

• A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 for permanent settlement, OR 

• A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire, or Vietnam with the intention of permanent settlement in India.

Educational Qualification (IMA & OTA)Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent.

Application Process

आवेदन करने की प्रक्रिया पूरी तरह से Online है। Form भरने के लिए नीचे दिए गए Steps को ध्यान से पढ़ें:

  • सबसे पहले आपको UPSC की Official Website (https://upsconline.nic.in) पर जाना होगा।
  • वेबसाइट के होमपेज पर आपको 'One Time Registration' (OTR) का विकल्प मिलेगा। अगर आपने पहले कभी OTR नहीं किया है, तो आपको अपनी Basic Details डालकर Universal Registration Number (URN) जनरेट करना होगा।
  • URN बन जाने के बाद, आपको अपनी Login ID और Password की मदद से Portal में Login करना होगा।
  • Login करने के बाद आपको 'Current Examinations' वाले भाग में जाना है और वहां Combined Defence Services Examination-II, 2026 के लिए Apply Online वाले लिंक पर Click करना है।
  • Application Form दो भागों में बंटा होता है। पहले भाग में आपको अपनी Personal Details, Educational Details और Preferences (IMA, INA, AFA, OTA) भरनी होती हैं।
  • दूसरे भाग में आपको Application Fee का Payment करना होगा (यदि आप पर लागू हो)।
  • इसके बाद आपको अपनी Passport Size Photograph, Signature और Photo ID Card (जैसे Aadhaar Card) की Scanned Copy अपलोड करनी होगी।
  • Note: इस बार Form भरते समय आपको अपनी Live Photograph भी कैमरे से खींच कर अपलोड करनी होगी। इसके अलावा आपको एक सफ़ेद कागज़ पर काले पेन से तीन बार Signature करके उसकी Photo भी अपलोड करनी है।
  • अपनी Exam Centre City को बहुत ही सोच-समझ कर चुनें क्योंकि Centre "First-Apply-First-Allot" के आधार पर मिलते हैं।
  • Form सबमिट करने से पहले सभी Details को ध्यान से Check कर लें। एक बार Form Submit हो जाने के बाद, कोई भी Correction नहीं किया जा सकेगा।
  • अंत में अपने Application Form का Print Out निकालकर अपने पास सुरक्षित रख लें।

UPSC CDS II 2026 Recruitment : Selection Process

इस भर्ती के लिए Selection Process पारदर्शी होता है। जो भी उम्मीदवार देश की सेना का Officer बनना चाहता है, उसे मुख्य रूप से तीन Stages से गुजरना पड़ता है। 

  • Written Examination: Selection Process का सबसे पहला चरण Written Exam होता है। यह परीक्षा UPSC द्वारा आयोजित की जाती है। जो उम्मीदवार IMA, INA या AFA के लिए आवेदन करते हैं, उन्हें तीन Papers (English, General Knowledge, और Mathematics) देने होते हैं। जबकि OTA के लिए केवल दो Papers (English और General Knowledge) होते हैं। यह परीक्षा Offline मोड (OMR Sheet) पर होती है। इसमें Objective Type प्रश्न पूछे जाते हैं।
  • SSB Interview (Service Selection Board):जो उम्मीदवार Written Exam को पास कर लेते हैं, उन्हें SSB Interview के लिए बुलाया जाता है। यह Interview 5 दिनों तक चलता है और यह दो Stages में बंटा होता है।
  • Stage I में Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test और Picture Perception & Description Test (PP&DT) शामिल होते हैं। जो उम्मीदवार Stage I पास करते हैं, केवल उन्हें ही Stage II के लिए Shortlist जाता है।
  • Stage II में Psychological Tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks, Personal Interview और Conference शामिल होते हैं। यह चरण उम्मीदवार के Personality, Decision लेने की क्षमता और Leadership के गुणों को जांचता है।
  • Medical Examination: SSB Interview में Select होने वाले उम्मीदवारों को Medical Examination के लिए भेजा जाता है। सेना के Medical Board द्वारा उम्मीदवार की पूरी शारीरिक और मानसिक जांच की जाती है। इसमें आँखों की रौशनी, लम्बाई, वजन, सुनने की क्षमता, और किसी भी प्रकार की बिमारी की जांच की जाती है।
  • Final Merit List: Selection Process का अंतिम चरण Merit List होता है। उम्मीदवारों के Written Exam और SSB Interview में प्राप्त अंकों को जोड़कर एक Final Merit List तैयार की जाती है। जो उम्मीदवार इस Merit List में जगह बनाते हैं और Medical रूप से Fit होते हैं, उन्हें Training के लिए Academy में भेज दिया जाता है।

Note: गलत उत्तरों के लिए Negative Marking होगी। प्रत्येक गलत उत्तर पर उस प्रश्न के अंकों का 1/3 (0.33) अंक काट लिया जाएगा।

UPSC CDS II 2026 Recruitment : Syllabus

English

The question paper will be designed to test the candidates' understanding of English and workmanlike use of words. The topics generally include:

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Spotting Errors
  • Fill in the blanks
  • Synonyms and Antonyms
  • Idioms and Phrases
  • Ordering of Sentences and Words

General Knowledge

General Knowledge including knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person. The paper will also include questions on:

  • History of India
  • Geography (Indian and World)
  • Indian Polity and Governance
  • Economics
  • General Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
  • Current Affairs (National and International)

Elementary Mathematics

  • Number System: Natural numbers, Integers, Rational and Real numbers, Fundamental operations, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, Square roots, Decimal fractions.
  • Arithmetic: Unitary method, time and distance, time and work, percentages, applications to simple and compound interest, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, variation.
  • Algebra: Basic Operations, simple factors, Remainder Theorem, H.C.F., L.C.M., Theory of polynomials, solutions of quadratic equations.
  • Trigonometry: Sine x, cosine x, Tangent x values, Simple trigonometric identities, cases of heights and distances.
  • Geometry: Lines and angles, Plane and plane figures, Theorems on Properties of angles, Parallel lines, Triangles, Circles.
  • Mensuration: Areas of squares, rectangles, parallelograms, triangle and circle, Surface area and volume of cuboids, right circular cones and cylinders, spheres.
  • Statistics: Collection and tabulation of statistical data, Graphical representation frequency polygons, histograms, bar charts, pie charts etc. Measures of central tendency.

Result

UPSC CDS की परीक्षा का Result बहुत ही Transparent तरीके से घोषित किया जाता है। 

  • Written Exam होने के लगभग 1 महीने के बाद UPSC अपनी Official Website पर Result जारी करता है।
  • Result एक PDF File के रूप में आता है जिसमें केवल सफल उम्मीदवारों के Roll Number और नाम दिए होते हैं।
  • जो उम्मीदवार Written Exam को Pass कर लेते हैं, उन्हें Army Recruiting Website पर जाकर खुद को Register करना होता है, ताकि उन्हें SSB Interview का Call Letter मिल सके।
  • Final Result, Written Exam और SSB Interview दोनों में Score किये गए अंकों को जोड़कर बनाया जाता है।

Admit Card

Written Exam से जुड़ी जानकारी Admit Card के Through दी जाती है। बिना Admit Card के किसी भी उम्मीदवार को Exam Hall में बैठने की Permission नहीं मिलती है।

  • परीक्षा की तारीख से ठीक एक Week पहले UPSC अपनी Official Website पर e-Admit Card जारी करेगा।
  • उम्मीदवारों को अपना Registration ID या Roll Number डालकर अपना Admit Card Download करना होगा।
  • कोई भी Admit Card आपको डाक द्वारा घर पर नहीं भेजा जाएगा। इसे Online ही Download करना होगा।
  • Admit Card Download करने के बाद, उसमें दी गई सभी Details (जैसे नाम, फोटो, Exam Centre) को अच्छे से Check कर लें। अगर कोई गलती हो, तो तुरंत UPSC Helpdesk से संपर्क करें।
  • Exam के दिन आपको अपना Print किया हुआ Admit Card, एक Original Photo ID Card, और OMR Sheet भरने के लिए केवल एक Black Ball Pen लेकर जाना होगा।
  • Mobile Phone, Smart Watch, या कोई भी इलेक्ट्रॉनिक गैजेट Exam Hall के अंदर ले जाना पूरी तरह से Prohibited है।

Preparation Tips

  • Syllabus को अच्छे से समझें: तैयारी शुरू करने से पहले, Official Notification में दिए गए Syllabus और Exam Pattern का Print Out निकाल लें। आपको यह पता होना चाहिए कि कौन सा विषय कितने Marks का है और कौन से Topics ज्यादा महत्वपूर्ण हैं।
  • Time Table बनाएं: अपनी पढ़ाई के लिए एक Time Table बनाएं। हर Subject को बराबर समय दें। क्योंकि Mathematics, GK और English तीनों ही Papers का महत्व बराबर होता है। अगर आप OTA की तैयारी कर रहे हैं, तो पूरा ध्यान English और GK पर लगाएं।
  • English की तैयारी: English Paper में अच्छे Marks लाने के लिए रोजाना Newspaper (जैसे The Hindu या Indian Express) पढ़ें। इससे आपकी Vocabulary मज़बूत होगी और Reading Comprehension में भी बहुत ज्यादा मदद मिलेगी। Grammar के Rules को अच्छे से समझें और Practice करें।
  • General Knowledge को Update रखें: GK के लिए आपको इतिहास, भूगोल और विज्ञान की Basic किताबें पढ़नी चाहिए। रोज़ाना News सुनें और Monthly Magazine पढ़ें।
  • Previous Year Papers और Mock Tests: पिछले 5 से 10 वर्षों के Previous Year Papers को Solve करना सबसे ज्यादा Efficient होता है। इससे आपको Exam के Level का अंदाज़ा हो जाता है।
