UPPCL Technician (Lineman)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

The candidate, to be eligible for this recruitment post, must have passed a class 10 examination with science as a subject and have a certification course of two years in a relevant post, such as electrician, from a SCVT or NCVT-approved institution.

2. AGE LIMIT

The age limit for the post of technician (lineman) is 18-40 years.

APPLICATION PROCESS

1. To apply online for this post, the interested candidate first has to visit the official website.

1. Click on the “application form registration (for new candidates)”.
2. Enter the required details, such as name, email, and phone number.
3. Once the username and password are sent to the provided email address, the candidate can login through those details.
4. Fill out the application form.
5. Upload the recent photograph and signature.
6. Pay the required fee.
7. Get a printout of the application form for further use.

APPLICATION FEE

The application fee may vary each year just a little bit. However, it remains equally near to:

For SC/ST candidates of domicile of UP, the application fee is 700 INR.

For General/OBC (NCL) category candidates, the application fee is 1000 INR.

PAY SCALE OF LINEMAN

The selected candidates for the post of lineman will receive consolidated pay as mentioned below:

1. Pay between 27,200 and 86,100 INR is paid per month for a two-year period.
2. Once the probation period is complete, the technician lineman salary will be paid as the regular pay scale. (Candidates can check the official notification for the updated and exact pay scale of this category.)

SELECTION PROCEDURE

There are three main stages carried out for the selection process of linemen (UPPCL):

1. Written exam, known as CBT

This is a computer based examination consisting of 200 questions for 1 mark each; 200 marks paper.

It is of 3 hours duration. There is a negative marking in this exam that is of 1/4th marks deduction for one wrong question.

2. Skill test

This is a stage where the candidate is asked to perform the technical skills assigned to him.

3. Document verification

This is the final stage of the technician (lineman) recruitment where all the information is submitted by the candidate and then cross-examined or cross-verified

LINEMAN EXAMINATION PATTERN

The exam pattern of the Lineman CBT exam has 4 sections in it, they are as given below:

Technical knowledge, general Hindi and general English, and general reasoning.

Technical knowledge consists of 150 questions of 1 mark each; 150 marks.

General Hindi consists of 15 questions of 1 mark each; 15 marks.

General English consists of 15 questions of 1 mark each; 15 marks.

General studies and reasoning ability consist of 20 questions of 1 mark each; 20 marks.

This makes the whole paper worth 200 marks in total.

The cut-off marks are constantly raising of the UPPCL (lineman) examination, as the competition is increasing on a daily basis. Before applying, candidates are advised to thoroughly review the syllabus and the examination pattern of that particular year they are applying in and prepare diligently. In order to boost their preparation, candidates can also go through the past year papers of the UPPCL Lineman exam.

The steps given below need to be followed by the candidates to download their admit cards post-application process

1. Visit the official website.
2. Click on the link mentioning “UPPCL Lineman admit card.”
3. Enter the essential details required of the candidate, such as the registration number, date of birth, hall ticket, etc.
4. Once the candidate’s admit card is displayed on the screen, download it.
5. Take the printout of the admit card.

The result of the candidate’s examination can be downloaded by following the steps below. It is to be noted that these need to be followed only once the results are declared.

1. Click on the ‘result’ on the official website of the UPPCL.
2. A PDF will appear, including the roll numbers of the candidates.
3. Press ctrl+F and enter the roll number.
4. The roll number will be highlighted in the PDF if that candidate is selected. This way, a candidate can know one’s result.
