The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board (UPPBPB) has released the official notification for the direct hiring of Assistant Operator posts. The hiring process for 44 vacancies of Assistant Operator in the Uttar Pradesh Police Radio Cadre has started. This is an excellent chance for candidates who have passed Intermediate (12th Class) with Physics and Mathematics.

This recruitment is for the post of Assistant Operator. This post falls under Pay Matrix Level-4, with a pay scale ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹81,100. It is a good position where you are required to handle technical tasks.

According to the notification released by the recruitment board, the category-wise breakdown of the total 44 posts is as follows:

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:
  • Candidates must have passed the Intermediate (12th Class) examination with Physics and Mathematics as subjects from a recognized board in India, or an equivalent examination recognized by the Government.
Nationality:
  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.

Age Criteria

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years

  • Maximum Age: 22 Years

Application Fees

  • General / OBC / EWS: ₹500

  • SC / ST: ₹400

  • Payment Mode: The application fee can only be paid via Online mode. Candidates can easily pay their fees using Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking, IMPS, or Cash Card/Mobile Wallet.

Exam Pattern & Selection Process

The Selection Process will be completed mainly in three stages:

  1. Online Written Exam (CBT / OMR Based)
  2. Documentation & Physical Standard Test (PST)
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET – Running)
  4. Medical Test

Step 1: Written Examination Pattern

The written exam will be of 400 marks, and you will get 2 hours 30 minutes (150 minutes) to complete it. The exam will consist of a total of 160 questions.

Important Condition: It is required to obtain 50% marks in each subject. If you score less than 50% in any single subject, you will not be eligible for recruitment.

Step 2 : Document Verification (DV)

After clearing the Written Exam, candidates’ original documents will be verified. This includes Educational Certificates, Identity Proof, Caste Certificates (if applicable), and other necessary documents.

Step 3 : Physical Standard Test (PST)

Candidates who pass the written exam will undergo a Physical Standard Test:

  • Height:
    • Male (Gen/OBC/SC): 168 cm (ST: 160 cm)
    • Female (Gen/OBC/SC): 152 cm (ST: 147 cm)
  • Chest (For Males only):
    • Gen/OBC/SC: 79 cm (Unexpanded) and 84 cm (Expanded)
    • Minimum 5 cm expansion is required.
  • Weight (For Females only): Minimum 40 kg.

Step 4 : Physical Efficiency Test (PET) 

  • Male Candidates:
  • 4.8 km running in 28 minutes.
  • Female Candidates:
  • 2.4 km running in 16 minutes.

Step 4: Medical Test

Finally, a Medical Examination will be conducted to check Eyesight, Hearing Capacity, and overall health. Only candidates who pass the medical test will be included in the final merit list.

Syllabus

1. General Hindi

  • Hindi and other Indian languages.

  • Fundamental knowledge of Hindi Grammar: Hindi Alphabet, Tadbhav-Tatsam, Synonyms (Paryayavachi), Antonyms (Vilom), Homonyms (Anekarthak), One-word substitution for phrases, Words appearing similar but with different meanings, Correcting incorrect sentences.

  • Gender, Number, Case (Karak), Pronoun, Adjective, Verb, Tense, Voice (Vachya), Indeclinables (Avyay), Prefix, Suffix, Sandhi, Compound words (Samas), Punctuation marks, Idioms and Proverbs, Ras, Chhand, Alankar, etc.

  • Reading Comprehension (Unseen Passage).

  • Famous poets, writers, and their famous works.

  • Awards in the Hindi language.

  • Miscellaneous.

2. Science & General Knowledge

  • Science: Topics include Physical World and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work Energy Power, Gravitation, Electrostatics, Electro Potential, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and AC, Electromagnetic Waves, Electronic Devices, Communication Systems, and Ray Optics.

  • General Knowledge: General Science, History of India, Indian Constitution, Indian Economy and Culture, Agriculture, Commerce and Trade, Population, Environment, Urbanization, Indian and World Geography, Natural Resources.

  • Specifics: Education, Culture, and Social Practices; Important facts related to UP (Revenue, Police, and Administrative system); Human Rights, Internal Security and Terrorism, India’s relations with neighboring countries, National and International Current Affairs, National and International Organizations, Electrification and its impact, Cyber Crime, and Goods & Services (GST).

3. Numerical & Mental Ability Test

  • Numerical Ability: Number System, Simplification, Decimals and Fractions, Highest Common Factor (HCF) and Lowest Common Multiple (LCM), Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Discount, Simple Interest, Compound Interest, Partnership, Average, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Use of Tables and Graphs, Mensuration, Arithmetical computations and other analytical functions, Miscellaneous.

  • Mental Ability: Perception Test, Word Formation Test, Letter and Number Series, Word and Alphabet Analogy, Common Sense Test, Direction Sense Test, Logical Interpretation of Data, Forcefulness of Argument, Determining Implied Meanings.

4. Mental Aptitude / IQ / Reasoning Ability

  • Mental Aptitude/IQ: Relationship and Analogy Test, Spotting out the dissimilar, Series Completion Test, Coding and Decoding Test, Direction Sense Test, Blood Relation, Problems based on Alphabet, Time Sequence Test, Venn Diagram and Chart type test, Mathematical Ability Test, Arranging in order.

  • Reasoning Ability: Analogies, Similarities, Differences, Space Visualization, Problem Solving, Analysis Judgment, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship, Concepts, Arithmetical Reasoning, Verbal and Figure Classification, Arithmetical Number Series, Abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationships.
