The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has officially released the notice announcing the dates for the written examination. As per the official notice released by UPPRPB on December 3, 2025, the written examination for the UP Police SI Direct Recruitment – 2025 is scheduled to be held on March 14, 2026 (Saturday) and March 15, 2026 (Sunday).The recruitment board releases the Admit Card or the City Intimation Slip about 10 to 12 days before the exam date. So, you can expect your UP SI Admit Cards to be ready in the first week of March 2026 on the official website.  UPSI Exam Pattern 

The UP SI written exam is designed to test your mental aptitude, general knowledge, and language skills. The exam will likely be held in CBT (Computer Based Test) mode or a Hybrid mode.

Key Points to Remember:

  • Total Marks: 400
  • Marks per Question: 2.5 Marks
  • Negative Marking: There is usually no negative marking in the UP SI exam, but you must check the instructions on the question paper carefully.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidates usually need to score at least 35% in each subject and 50% overall to qualify for the next stage.

Selection Process 

  1. Online Written Examination: The objective-type test scheduled for March 2026.
  2. Documentation & Physical Standard Test (PST): Successful candidates will be called to check documents and for physical measurement (Height and Chest).
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who clear PST must pass the running test.
    • Male Candidates: 4.8 km run in 28 minutes.
    • Female Candidates: 2.4 km run in 16 minutes.
  4. Medical Examination: A proper medical check-up to ensure you are fit physically and mentally.

Process to Download Admit Card

  1. Visit the official website of the board: uppbpb.gov.in.
  2. Look for the link titled “Download Admit Card for UP Police SI Recruitment 2025” on the home page.
  3. Click on the link and you will go to a login page.
  4. Enter your Registration Number and Date of Birth (DOB).
  5. Enter the Captcha code shown on the screen and click ‘Submit’.
  6. Your Admit Card will appear on the screen. Download it and take a clear printout (color is better) for later use.

Shift Timings and City Centres

Since the exam is held over two days (Saturday and Sunday), it is expected to be held in multiple shifts to handle the large number of candidates.

  • Shift 1 (Morning): Expected around 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
  • Shift 2 (Afternoon/Evening): Expected around 03:00 PM to 05:00 PM.

Exam Centres: Major cities across Uttar Pradesh will be exam hubs. These include Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj (Allahabad), Varanasi, Meerut, Agra, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, and Noida. Your specific center will be given based on your choice and availability.

Important Documents to Carry

On exam day, you must bring specific documents to the center. Without these, you might not be allowed inside:

  • Admit Card: Hard copy of the downloaded e-Admit Card.
  • Original Photo ID: Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Driving License, or Passport. (Make sure the name matches the Admit Card).
  • Passport Size Photographs: Carry 2 recent passport-sized color photos (same as the ones you uploaded in the application form).
  • Ballpoint Pen: Blue or Black ballpoint pen (if the exam is OMR based or for rough work in CBT).

 Instructions for Candidates

  • Reporting Time: Reach the exam center at least 60 to 90 minutes before the exam starts. Gates usually close 30 minutes before the start time.
  • Prohibited Items: Do not carry mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, electronic gadgets, or any study material inside the exam hall.
  • Biometric Verification: Work with the staff for biometric checking (fingerprint/iris scan) at the center.
  • Read Instructions: Read the instructions on the computer screen or question booklet carefully before starting.
  • Stay Calm: Worrying can lead to small mistakes. Stay calm and try to answer the questions you are confident about first.

 What Next After the Exam

After the written examination on March 14 and 15, the board will release the Provisional Answer Key within a week or two. Candidates will get time to report any issues with questions or answers. After reviewing these reports, a Final Answer Key and the Written Exam Result will be declared.

Candidates who make it to the merit list will then get a new admit card for the DVPST (Document Verification and Physical Standard Test).
