The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), also referred to as the Rajasthan Karmachari Chayan Board, has announced for the Primary School Teacher (Level 1) direct recruitment 2025. This is a huge opportunity for candidates who have been waiting for a teaching position in the state. Vacancy Details

The RSSB has announced a substantial number of vacancies, totaling 5,636  posts for Primary Teacher Level-1. These vacancies are distributed between the Sanskrit Education Department and the Elementary Education Department. The posts are further divided into Non-Scheduled Areas (Non-TSP) and Scheduled Areas (TSP).

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the RSSB Primary Teacher post, one must fulfill the educational qualifications and age criteria set by the board.
Educational Qualification:

For Elementary Education Department : 

  • Senior Secondary (Class 12th) or its equivalent examinationwith at least 50% marks.
  • AND a 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.), known as B.S.T.C.
  • OR, Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and a 2 Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed. / B.S.T.C.) as per NCTE Regulations, 2002.
  • OR, Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 4-Year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
  • OR, Graduation with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed. / B.S.T.C.).
  • Most importantly, a candidate must have passed the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (REET) Level-1 Examination.

For Sanskrit Education Department

  • Varishtha Upadhyaya (Or its equivalent traditional Sanskrit examination) with at least 50% marks and 2-year
    Diploma in Elementary Education (By Whatever name known.) OR
  • Varishtha Upadhyaya (Or its equivalent traditional Sanskrit examination) with at least 45% marks and 2-year
    diploma in Elementary Education (By whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition,
    Norms and procedure) Regulations-2002. OR
  • Varishtha Upadhyaya (Or its equivalent traditional Sanskrit examination) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) OR
  • Shastri (Or its equivalent traditional Sanskrit examination) and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (By whatever name known)
  • Most importantly, a candidate must have passed the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (REET) Level-1 Examination.

The age restriction (as of 01.01.2027) is clearly indicated in the brief advertisement of the Board.

Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: Less than 40 years

This means the candidate should not have been born before January 2, 1987, and after January 1, 2006.

How to Apply Online

The application process will be completely online through the official Rajasthan SSO portal. 

  • Go to the official RSSB website: rssb.rajasthan.gov.in.
  • On the homepage, click on the "Recruitment Advertisement" section.
  • Look for the link that says "Primary School Teacher Direct Recruitment Level 1 - 2025" and click on "Apply Online".
  • You will be redirected to the Rajasthan Single Sign-On (SSO) portal. Log in using your SSO ID and password. If you don't have an SSO ID, you must register first by clicking on the "Registration" button.
  • Once logged in, select the ongoing recruitment for the Primary Teacher and fill out the application form with accurate details like your name, father's name, educational details, address, etc.
  • Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-size photograph, signature, and any other required documents in the specified format and size.
  • Proceed to the payment gateway and pay the application fee using a debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI.
  • After successful payment, review your application form one last time and click the "Submit" button. Make sure to download and print a copy of the filled application form for your records.

Salary 

A career as a Primary School Teacher in Rajasthan comes with a respectable salary and job security. The selected candidates will be paid as per the Pay Matrix Level L-10.

Probation Period: There is a probation period, usually for 2 years, for Rajasthan government jobs. During this period, the candidate will receive fixed monthly compensation (salary amount) as decided by the state government.

Post-Probation: Once an employee successfuly completes probation, the employee will get compensated approximately at L-10 level of pay matrix. Basic pay at the L-10 level will start at ₹ 33,800.

In addition to the basic salary the employee will receive a number of allowances to their compensation package, including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and more, under the 7th pay commission. These extra allowances often represent a significant portion of the in-hand salary.

Selection Process

This recruitment is "Direct Recruitment" and recruitment will be made through a competitive exam.
Written Exam: A single objective-type (MCQ-based) written exam will take place. This will be the only step for shortlisted candidates.
Document Verification: Candidates who have scored marks above the cut-off in the written exam will be called in for Document Verification (DV). Candidates will have all of their original documents (educational qualifications, category, age, etc.) verified during DV.
Final Merit List: The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks of candidates in the written exam. Candidates who are on the final merit list will be recommended for appointment.

Section 1: Rajasthan Geography, History, and Culture (100 Marks)

  • Geography: Location, extent, physical features of Rajasthan, monsoon system, climate, drainage system (rivers, lakes), forests, wildlife, biodiversity conservation, agriculture, major crops, livestock, dairy development, mineral resources, energy resources (conventional & non-conventional), tourist places, transportation.
  • History & Culture: Ancient civilizations of Rajasthan (Kalibangan, Ahar, Ganeshwar, Bairath), major historical events and dynasties of Rajasthan, architecture (forts, monuments), fairs, festivals, folk music, folk dance, folk drama, saints and folk deities, important historical places, prominent personalities, paintings and handicrafts, Rajasthani language and literature, role of Rajasthan in the 1857 revolution, tribal and peasant movements, Praja Mandal movement, and integration of Rajasthan.

Section 2: Rajasthan GK, Educational Scenario, RTE Act, Current Affairs (80 Marks)

  • General Knowledge: State symbols of Rajasthan, flagship schemes of the Rajasthan government, major research centers, religious places, prominent players, famous cities and places, major industries, political and administrative system.
  • Educational Scenario: Teaching-learning innovations, government welfare schemes for students, school management committees (SMC), National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the context of Rajasthan.
  • RTE Act: Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009: provisions and their implementation in Rajasthan. Right of private schools under the Rajasthan RTE Rules 2011.
  • Current Affairs: Major current events and issues related to Rajasthan.

Section 3: School Subjects (50 Marks)

  • Hindi (10 Marks): Noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, adverb, sandhi, samas, synonyms, antonyms, one-word substitution, idioms, and proverbs.
  • English (10 Marks): Articles, Tense, Voice (Active-Passive), Narration (Direct-Indirect), Idioms & Phrasal verbs, Synonyms, Antonyms, One-word substitution.
  • Mathematics (10 Marks): Whole numbers, prime and composite numbers, basic mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), fractions, percentage, profit & loss, simple interest, line and angle, plane figures and their properties, area and perimeter.
  • General Science (10 Marks): Acids, bases and salts, elements, compounds and mixtures, physical and chemical changes, motion, force, light, cell structure and function, microorganisms.
  • Social Studies (10 Marks): Indian civilization, culture, and society, Mauryan & Gupta Empires, Delhi Sultanate and Mughal Empire, the Indian Constitution and its making, the role of government, Earth and our environment.

Section 4: Pedagogy / Educational Methodology (40 Marks)

  • Hindi (8 Marks): Principles of teaching Hindi language, language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing), methods of teaching, evaluation.
  • English (8 Marks): Principles of teaching English, methods and approaches, challenges in teaching English, evaluation, remedial teaching.
  • Mathematics (8 Marks): Methods of teaching mathematics, curriculum, teaching aids, evaluation methods.
  • General Science (8 Marks): Methods of teaching science, innovation, teaching aids, evaluation.
  • Social Studies (8 Marks): Concept and nature of social studies, teaching methods, project work, evaluation.

Section 5: Educational Psychology (20 Marks)

  • Meaning, scope, and utility of educational psychology.
  • Child development: Principles of development, role of heredity and environment.
  • Theories of learning (Behaviorism, Cognitivism, Constructivism) and their classroom implications.
  • Personality: Concept, types, and factors affecting it.
  • Intelligence, creativity, motivation, and individual differences.

Section 6: Information Technology (10 Marks)

  • Basics of Information Technology.
  • Tools of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
  • Applications of IT in teaching and learning.
  • Social impacts of Information Technology.

Result

RSSB will announce the outcome of the written test through their official website. The result will typically be in the format of a PDF document that lists roll numbers for candidates who qualify for the next step (Document Verification). Once DV is completed, the board will publish a final merit list of selected candidates. Please keep checking the official website for updates regarding the result.

Admit Card

The admit card, also referred to as a hall ticket, is the most crucial document you must bring to the exam hall. The RSSB will provide the admit cards on their official website rssb.rajasthan.gov.in near the date of the exam, guaranteed to be issued 7-10 days before the exam.
To retrieve your admit card, you will log in using your Application ID and Date of Birth. After you download the admit card, check all the information as far as your name, photo, signature, exam center, and exam times carefully. If you notice an error at this point, you need to get in contact with the board's helpline immediately.

Preparation Advice

1. Your first step should be to completely understand the syllabus and exam pattern.
2. Rajasthan-specific sections will have the most weightage (180 marks). Take special interest into this section.
3. Always maintain a realistic, consistent study schedule. Plan for a timeframe of each subject daily.
4. It is an advantage to refer to books that are standard. You can refer to Rajasthan Board (RBSE) books (class 6 to class 10) for school subjects, and have some good reliable official guides for Rajasthan G.K.
5. Solving previous question papers will help you know what to expect in future exams in terms of type and level of difficulty.
6. Ensure you take a mock test regularly to improve your speed, accuracy and time management.
7. Revision is a major part of retaining your information. Make quick notes for retrieval.
8. Regularly read a local newspaper or a monthly magazine for Rajasthani current affairs.
