KVS/NVS Tier 1 Exam Date Out

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), both autonomous organizations under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, have initiated a massive recruitment drive. This recruitment covers various teaching and non-teaching posts including Assistant Commissioners, Principals, PGTs, TGTs, and PRTs. According to recent updates, the official dates for the first phase of the written examination have been finalized. The selection process is rigorous, involving a Tier-1 screening test followed by a subject-specific Tier-2 exam and interviews or skill tests.

NVS Eligibility : Education Qualification

The candidates interested in NVS recruitment 2025 for Teaching posts must refer to the required eligibility criteria as mentioned below. Only the candidates holding the required education qualification & age limit can apply for NVS Recruitment 2025.

Assistant Commissioner i) Master’s Degree from a recognized university with at least 50% marks
ii) B.Ed. from NCTE Recognized Institute/University
iii) Working as Principal in the Pay Level 12 (Rs.78800 to Rs.209200) for at least 03 years in Central/State/Autonomous Organizations of Central Govt./State Govt.
Principle i) Master’s Degree with at least 50% marks from recognized institution/University.
ii) Bachelor degree in Education (B.Ed.) with at least 50% marks from NCTE recognized Institution/University.
OR
Three year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. from NCTE recognized institution/University with at least 50% marks
OR
Four years Integrated Degree with at least 50% marks including B.Ed. component from NCTE recognized Institution/University (50% marks)
iii) Working as Principal in Pay Level-12 (Rs.78800-209200) in the Pay Matrix in Central/State Govt./Autonomous organizations of Central/State Govt.

Reservation

 

Category Reservation Details
EWS (Economically Weaker Section) Available for candidates with family gross annual income below Rs. 8 Lakh, provided they do not own excluded assets (e.g., 5 acres land, flat over 1000 sq ft).
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates must belong to castes listed in the Central List for OBCs. Creamy layer candidates are treated as General.
SC / ST Reservation available upon production of valid caste certificate in the prescribed format.
PwBD Horizontal reservation is provided for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities based on functional requirements of the post.

Selection Process

The selection process varies slightly depending on the post but generally follows this structure:

  • Tier-1: Preliminary (Qualifying) Examination (OMR/Objective Mode). Shortlisting for Tier-2 is done in the ratio of 1:10.
  • Tier-2: Subject Knowledge Examination (Bilingual).
  • Interview / Skill Test: Candidates shortlisted from Tier-2 appear for an Interview (Ratio 1:3) or Skill Test (Ratio 1:5).
  • Final Merit: Based on Tier-2 marks (85% weightage) and Interview marks (15% weightage). For non-interview posts, merit is based on Tier-2 only.

The examination will be conducted in two parts (Tiers).

Tier-1 (Preliminary Qualifying Exam)

This is an OMR-based test for all posts except MTS.

Note on Marking Scheme:

  • Each question carries 3 marks.
  • There is negative marking: 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Admit Card

The Admit Card process is strictly online.

  • Exam City Display: Information regarding the allotted examination city will be displayed on the official websites 15 days before the exam.
  • Admit Card Download: The full admit card with the center details will be available for download 02 days before the examination.
  • Mode: Admit cards are available in the candidate’s application login only. No hard copies will be sent by post.
