1. Introduction

The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has released a big recruitment process for the role of Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) and Drawing Teacher for the year 2025. The posts are offered under the Directorate of Education and the New Delhi Municipal Council, which are well-established government institutions. 3. Vacancy Details

There are 5346 total vacancies for different posts of TGT. The vacancies are distributed over different categories such as Unreserved (UR), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).

4. Eligibility Criteria

 

Educational Qualification

The education needed is different for different TGT subjects.

For TGT (Mathematics, English, Social Science, Natural Science):

  1. A Bachelor's Degree (like B.A., B.Sc.) in the main subject with at least 50% marks. You must have studied the subject for at least 2 years in your degree. OR A Master's Degree in the main subject with at least 50% marks in either the Bachelor's or Master's degree. OR A 4-year integrated degree course like B.A.B.Ed. or B.Sc.B.Ed. in the subject.
  2. A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree or three year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed. From a recognized
    University.
  3. You must have passed the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Paper-II, conducted by CBSE.

For TGT (Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Punjabi):

  1. A Bachelor's Degree in the respective language (Hindi, Sanskrit, etc.) with at least 50% marks. You must have studied the language for at least 2 years. OR A Master's Degree in the language with at least 50% marks in either the Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  2. A B.Ed. degree.
  3. You must have passed the CTET Paper-II.

For Drawing Teacher:

  1. A five-year Diploma in Drawing/Painting/Sculpture/Graphic Art from a recognized university. OR A Master's Degree in Drawing and Painting/Fine Art. OR A Bachelor's Degree in Drawing/Painting/Fine Art plus a two-year full-time Diploma in Painting/Fine Art.

For Special Education Teacher:

  1. A graduate degree with B.Ed. (Special Education) OR a B.Ed. with a two-year diploma in special education.
  2. You must have passed the CTET Paper-II.

Age Limit

  • General Age Limit: Your age should not be more than 30 years.
  • The date for checking the age limit is November 7, 2025.

Age Relaxation: Some candidates can get a relaxation in the upper age limit. This means they can be older than 30 years and still apply.

5. Application Fee and Process

 

Application Fee

  • For General / OBC / EWS candidates: ₹100 (One Hundred Rupees).
  • For Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates: No Fee.

The fee must be paid online through SBI e-pay. Fee paid by any other way will not be accepted. The fee is non-refundable.

How to Apply

You can only apply online on the official website of DSSSB. Website: https://dsssbonline.nic.in

Here are the steps to apply:

  1. Since you are a new candidate and have never applied on the DSSSB website before, you will have to register first. This is a one-time registration. You will be provided with a User ID and Password. Preserve them for future use.
  2. Visit the website https://dsssbonline.nic.in and login using your User ID and Password.
  3. Look for the advertisement number 06/2025 and the post for which you desire to apply. Fill in all your details properly, like your name, father's name, date of birth, and educational qualifications.
  4. You will have to upload a recent color photograph and your signature. The photograph must have a white background.
  5. Before you submit, review all the information you have entered. After submitting the form, you will not be able to make any modifications.
  6. If you need to pay the fee, you will be routed to the payment page. Pay the fee through SBI e-pay.
  7. After successful payment, submit your application form.
  8. Print your final application form for your own use.

6. Salary

 

The TGT and Drawing Teacher posts are Group 'B' non-gazetted posts. 

  • Pay Scale: ₹44,900 - ₹1,42,400
  • Pay Level: Level 7 This implies that the initial basic pay will be ₹44,900. Besides the basic pay, you will receive other allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA). The overall salary in hand will be much more than the basic pay.

7. Selection Process

 

The selection of candidates will be based on a written examination.

  1. One-Tier Written Examination: All shortlisted candidates will need to appear for a computer-based examination. The examination will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
  2. Document Verification: The shortlisted candidates in the written examination will be summoned for document verification. They will be required to scan all their necessary documents (such as mark sheets, degree, caste certificate) online into what is termed as an "e-dossier". The user department will verify whether or not the candidate is eligible.
  3. Final Merit List: A final merit list will be formed on the marks secured in the written examination.
  4. Physical Endurance Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST): The official notification states that a PET or Skill Test will be conducted "as per requirement of job". In the case of these TGT and Drawing Teacher jobs, a PET/PST is usually not a necessity. But the candidates need to wait for DSSSB to issue any specific notice regarding their post. 

8. Exam Pattern

 

The written exam will be for 200 marks and will have 200 questions. The total time given will be 2 hours. The exam has two sections: Section A and Section B.

Important Points about the Exam:

  • There will be negative marking. For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
  • The question paper will be in both English and Hindi, except for the language papers.
  • You need to score minimum marks to qualify.
    • General/EWS: 40%
    • OBC (Delhi): 35%
    • SC/ST/PwBD: 30%
    • The minimum qualifying marks are applicable only for Section B. However, the final merit list will be based on the total marks of both Section A and Section B.

Section B (Subject Specific)

This section is divided into two parts: questions from your main subject and questions on teaching methodology.

  • Part 1: Subject Concerned: This part will cover the complete syllabus of the specific subject (like Mathematics, Science, English, etc.) up to the graduation level. The difficulty of questions can be high. You should have a deep knowledge of all the concepts. A good strategy is to thoroughly study the NCERT books from Class 6 to 12 and also refer to your graduation-level textbooks.
  • Part 2: Teaching Methodology / B.Ed. Topics: This part will test your knowledge of teaching skills and child psychology. Important topics include:
    • Concepts of Growth and Development
    • Theories of Learning and their implication
    • Teaching Aptitude and Teaching Methodologies
    • Classroom Management and Discipline
    • Inclusive Education
    • Educational Psychology
    • Assessment and Evaluation, CCE
    • National Education Policy (NEP) 2020

12. Result

 

DSSSB will release the result after the examination is completed.

  • The board first releases draft answer keys on its site. You can verify the answers and lodge objections in case you come across any answer to be incorrect.
  • After considering the objections, the final answer key shall be released.
  • The result will be prepared on the basis of the final answer key.
  • The result will be published on the official website of DSSSB.
  • A list of shortlisted candidates for document verification shall be released.
  • The final result along with the merit list will be declared after document verification.
  • Candidates should regularly check the DSSSB website for all notifications regarding the result.
  • Candidates should keep checking the DSSSB website for all updates related to the result.

11. Admit Card

 

An admit card is a highly crucial document. Without it, you would not be permitted to enter the examination hall.

  • The admit card will be published on the official website of DSSSB, i.e., https://dsssb.delhi.gov.in.
  • It will be uploaded a few days prior to the date of the examination.
  • You will need to download it by using your registration credentials. 
  • The admit card will contain crucial information such as your name, roll number, exam date, time, and the address of your exam center.
  • Carefully examine all the details on the admit card. In case of an error, inform DSSSB at the earliest.
  • You need to produce a printout of your admit card and a valid photo ID proof (such as Aadhar Card, Voter ID, or Passport) at the exam hall.

10. Preparation Tips

 

  • Read the syllabus and exam pattern thoroughly before beginning your preparation. This will allow you to understand what you need to study.
  • Plan your schedule and allot equal importance to all the subjects in Section A and your core subject in Section B.
  • Select good and authentic books for your preparation. NCERT books class 6 to class 12 are extremely useful, particularly for the subject-based portion.
  • Attempt previous year question papers of DSSSB TGT exams. This will make you clear the pattern of questions asked.
  • Take mock tests regularly to analyze your level of preparation. It will also make you faster and better.
  • Section B consists of 100 marks and also has a minimum qualifying standard. Pay extra care to your core subject and teaching technique.
  • For General Awareness, read newspapers and magazines every day to update yourself on current affairs.
  • Prepare short notes on key topics and revise them on a regular basis.
