The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially announced the results for the SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2025 on November 28, 2025. If you appeared for the Computer Based Examination (CBE) held earlier in August, you can now check your qualifying status. The Staff Selection Commission conducted the Computer Based Examination for Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ over several days, from 06.08.2025 to 11.08.2025, at various centers across the country. The commission has released the list of candidates who have provisionally qualified to take the Skill Test.

It is important to note that the marks have been “normalized.” This means the commission used a specific formula to adjust scores based on the difficulty level of different exam shifts. These normalized scores were used to decide who qualifies for the Skill Test.

SSC Stenographer Grade C & D Result 2025 : Vacancy Details
The number of available jobs (vacancies) can change during the process, but the tentative numbers announced for the 2025 cycle are approximately 1,590.

- Visit the Official Website: Go to the SSC website at ssc.gov.in.
- Go to the Results Section: Click on the tab labeled “Result” on the home page.
- Select the Exam: Click on the tab that says “Steno ‘C’ & ‘D'”.
- Find the PDF: Look for the link titled “Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination, 2025 – List of candidates qualified in Computer Based Examination for Skill Test“. Note that there are separate lists for Grade C and Grade D.
- Search for Your Name: Open the PDF file. Use the search function (Ctrl+F on a computer) and type in your Roll Number or Name.

Key Observations:
- Grade C: The cut-off for the Unreserved (UR) category has actually dropped slightly in 2025 (142.42) compared to the very high score in 2024 (148.57).
- Grade D: The competition remains very consistent. The UR cut-off is around 132, which is similar to previous years.
- Category Changes: There was a noticeable increase in the cut-off marks for SC and ST categories in Grade D this year, meaning candidates in these categories faced tougher competition than before.
SSC Stenographer Grade C & D Result 2025 : Skill Test
In this test, you will be given a dictation in either English or Hindi, based on what you chose in your application. The dictation lasts for 10 minutes.
- For Grade ‘C’: The dictation speed is 100 words per minute (w.p.m).
- For Grade ‘D’: The dictation speed is 80 words per minute (w.p.m).
Transcription Time: After writing down the dictation in shorthand, you will have to type (transcribe) it on a computer. The time allowed for this part is:

What is Next After the Result?
If your name is on the list, congratulations you have cleared the first major step. However, the selection process is not over. The next stage is the Skill Test in Stenography. This test is “qualifying in nature,” which means you don’t get marks that are added to your final score, but you must pass it to get the job.
