Inspector (Preventive Officer) under CBIC (Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs) एक बहुत ही प्रतिष्ठित और जिम्मेदार सरकारी पद होता है। यह पोस्ट SSC CGL (Staff Selection Commission – Combined Graduate Level) एग्जाम के जरिए मिलती है। Preventive Officer का मुख्य कार्य smuggling रोकना, illegal imports/exports को पकड़ना और border customs duty को enforce करना होता है। यह पोस्ट बहुत demanding होती है क्योंकि इसमें field duty भी होती है, खासकर coastal areas, ports, और airports पर। इस पद में आपको uniform पहननी होती है और एक खास authority मिलती है।

Eligibility Criteria for the (Preventive Officer) – CBIC Examination:

Preventive Officer बनने के लिए निम्नलिखित योग्यताएं होनी चाहिए:

Selection Process for the Senior Secretariat Assistant / Upper Division Clerk (SSA/UDC) – Central Government Offices Examination:

Selection Process यानी चयन की प्रक्रिया तीन मुख्य चरणों में होती है, जो निम्नलिखित हैं:

1. Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (कंप्यूटर आधारित परीक्षा) (Qualifying In Nature).

2. Tier-II: Mains exam (CBT) (Merit will be based on this). and (DEST)/Typing Test (टाइपिंग टेस्ट)

3. Document Verification (दस्तावेज़ सत्यापन)

अब इन तीनों चरणों को समझते हैं:
1. Tier-I: Computer-Based Test (CBT)

-यह परीक्षा एक Objective Type परीक्षा होती है जिसमें सभी प्रश्न Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) के रूप में होते हैं। यह परीक्षा कंप्यूटर पर होती है।

-इस चरण में 100 प्रश्न होते हैं
-कुल अंक 200 होते हैं
-समय 60 मिनट होता है
-हर गलत उत्तर पर 0.50 अंक की नेगेटिव मार्किंग होती है
-सभी प्रश्न अंग्रेज़ी और हिंदी दोनों भाषाओं में होते हैं (English Section को छोड़कर)

-यह परीक्षा उम्मीदवार की बुद्धिमत्ता, गणितीय योग्यता, सामान्य ज्ञान और अंग्रेज़ी भाषा में दक्षता को परखने के लिए होती है।
Note: - Tier – 1 Exam Qualifying Nature का होता हैं | इसके अंक अंतिम सूची में शामिल नहीं किए जाते हैं |

2. Tier-II:

-यह परीक्षा एक Objective Type परीक्षा होती है जिसमें सभी प्रश्न Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) के रूप में होते हैं। यह परीक्षा कंप्यूटर पर होती है। इसके कुल 3 sections होते हैं| यह कुल 390 अंकों का होता हैं |

-Negative marking: प्रत्येक गलत उत्तर के लिए 1 अंक काट लिया जाता हैं |

-Time : 2 Hours 15 Minutes .

Typing Test (DEST)

-यह एक Qualifying Nature का टेस्ट होता है यानी इसके अंक अंतिम मेरिट में नहीं जोड़े जाते लेकिन इसे पास करना अनिवार्य होता है। इसके अन्दर एक पैसेज दिया जाता है (2000 Key Depression का ) जिसे 15 मिनट में टाइप करना होता है | Typing Test, Tier-II होने के बाद उसी दिन कराया जाता है |

Note: - Typing test will be conducted on the same day after the completion of Tier – II exam.

3. Document Verification

-इस चरण में उम्मीदवारों से उनकी शैक्षणिक प्रमाण पत्र, पहचान पत्र, श्रेणी प्रमाण पत्र (अगर लागू हो) और टाइपिंग प्रमाण पत्र (यदि मांगा गया हो) आदि की जांच की जाती है।

-यदि उम्मीदवार दस्तावेजों को सत्यापित करने में विफल रहता है, तो उसे चयन प्रक्रिया से बाहर कर दिया जाता है।

Computer Knowledge Test

-कुल प्रश्न : 20

-कुल समय : 15 मिनट

Note - यह section Qualifying Nature का होता है , लेकिन इसे Qualify करना अनिवार्य है |

-DEST – Data Entry Speed Test (Qualifying)

-15 मिनट में 2000 Key Depressions का एक पैसेज टाइप करना होता है|

-केवल Qualifying Nature का होता है|

-Final Merit में इसको शामिल नहीं किया जाता|

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

PET केवल Preventive Officer जैसी field duty posts के लिए होता है और qualifying nature का होता है।

पुरुष उम्मीदवारों के लिए:

Height	कम से कम 157.5 सेमी
Chest	कम से कम 81 सेमी (5 सेमी फुलाव के साथ)
Walking	1600 मीटर 15 मिनट में
Cycling	8 किलोमीटर 30 मिनट में

महिला उम्मीदवारों के लिए:

Height	कम से कम 152 सेमी
Weight	कम से कम 48 किलोग्राम
Walking	1 किलोमीटर 20 मिनट में
Cycling	3 किलोमीटर 25 मिनट में

Final Merit List:

-Final Merit केवल Tier 2 के Paper I के अंकों के आधार पर तैयार की जाती है|

-Computer Knowledge और DEST केवल qualifying होते हैं, इनके अंक मेरिट में नहीं जुड़ते|

-PET भी qualifying होता है, लेकिन fail करने पर उम्मीदवार selection से बाहर हो सकता है|

-Document Verification के बाद ही Final Selection और Appointment होती है|

दूसरा चरण Tier-II होता है, जिसमें दो मुख्य Sections होते हैं – एक Section मे Quantitative Aptitude और Reasoning के प्रश्न पूछे जाते हैं और दूसरे Section मे English Language and Comprehension और General Awareness के प्रश्न पूछे जाते हैं | इनके अलावा एक और Section होता है जिसमे Computer Knowledge से सम्बंधित प्रश्न पूछे जाते हैं | यह Section सिर्फ Qualify करना होता है |

-इसके अतिरिक्त Data Entry Speed Test यानी DEST भी होता है, जिसमें उम्मीदवारों को 2000 Key Depression का एक Passage दिया जाता है जिसे 15 मिनट में Type करना होता है । यह केवल Qualifying Nature का होता है। यह Tier-II के बाद उसी दिन लिया जाता है |
