Full Information About RPSC RAS Syllabus Salary 2024
RPSC (Rajasthan Public Commission) releases notifications for state and subdivisional services through a combined exam. This year, in 2024, the vacancies were also released through the official notification on their websites.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- AGE LIMIT
The minimum age of a candidate for the RAS examination is 21 years, and the maximum age for the same is 40 years.
Some relaxation regarding age has also been granted to certain categories, which are mentioned in the official notification. It is provided below:
For male candidates of SC/ST/EWS/BC category, the age relaxation is 5 years.
For female candidates of SC/ST/EWS/BC category, the age relaxation is 10 years.
For women of general category, the age relaxation is of 5 years; and
For widows and divorced women there is no upper age limit as such.
- EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
To be eligible for various posts or services of the state, the candidates have to fulfill some educational qualifications as well.
There is not a broad list of the educational requirements for the exam. The candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized university.
APPLICATION PROCESS
The candidate has to fill out an application form to be eligible to appear in the RAS examination, like any other exam. It is a one-time registration process for the recruitment of all the posts of RPSC (Rajasthan Public Service Commission).

- Candidates can apply by filling out the form after collecting and uploading the required documents through scanning.
- Fill out all the details in the form.
- Pay the required application fee.
- Submit the form.
- Take out the printout of the application form for further use.
APPLICATION FEE
The application process will be completed after paying or submitting the application fee by the candidate, through the online payment gateway. The amount of the application fee is given below for different categories:
For general/EBC/OBC categories, the online application fee is 600 INR.
For the general unreserved category, the application fee is 350 INR.
For the reserved categories, such as ST, SC, OBC, PwBD, etc., the application fee is 400 INR.
For the disabled people, the application fee is 400 INR.
SELECTION PROCESS
The selection of candidates for the RAS examination, according to the RPSC PAS notification 2024, is through various stages of state services and subordinate services. A three-stage process is followed, involving a preliminary exam as the first stage, a main exam as the second one, and an interview as the final stage. Once a candidate successfully qualifies for all 3 stages, he/she is hired for the vacancies.
The preliminary exam is 200 marks. Passing this exam leads to the next stage, which is the mains. Mains is also a 200-mark test, consisting of 4 parts. Then comes the interview; once the above 2 stages are qualified, candidates are required to appear for the RAS interview. Interview if for 100 marks. Passing the interview leads to the final selection of the applicant.
EXAM PATTERN
Before applying and preparing for the RAS exam, the candidate must first understand the exam pattern of both the stages; prelims and mains. Here is a brief and quick understanding of the exam pattern released for the various vacancies of the RPSC RAS recruitment. This pattern was recently followed this year, in 2024.
The preliminary exam includes only 1 paper consisting of 150 objective questions. The time duration for this stage of examination is 3 hours. Prelims consist of two subjects to be asked; General knowledge and general science. The exam is conducted in bilingual pattern; English and Hindi. Total marks for the prelims exam is 200.
The RPSC RAS mains exam pattern is as below:
There are total 4 papers, each paper is of 200 marks and questions are of descriptive type. Time duration is 3 hours.
Paper I – subjects are general studies 1; total marks – 200; duration – 3 hours.
Paper II – subjects are general studies 2; total marks: 200; time duration: 3 hours.
Paper III – subjects are general studies 3; total marks: 200; time duration: 3 hours.
Paper IV: subjects are general studies 3; total marks: 200; total time duration: 3 hours.

SALARY SCALE
Once the candidate is hired after clearing all the stages, he/she is paid the following salary structure for different posts.
For the Rajasthan commercial tax service post, jail service, tourism service, and co-operative service, the approximate salary is 40,000 INR to 45,500 INR.
For the Insurance services, and women and child development services, the approximate salary is 61,000 INR to 66,000 INR.
For the Rajasthan subordinate Devastan service, commercial tax subordinate service, and Rajasthan excise subordinate service, the approximate salary is 33,500 to 38,500 INR.
For the Rajasthan social justice and employment service, Rajasthan social justice and empowerment service, Rajasthan employment subordinate service, and Tehsildar service, the approximate salary is 33,500 to 42,500 INR.
ADMIT CARD
The admit card for the RPSC RAS examination is released around 10 days before the exam. Candidates can download their admit cards from the website directly for the preliminary stage first, using the steps provided below:

- Click on the admit card link.
- Enter the application number and date of birth.
- Download the admit card.
- Take a printout of it.
RESULT
The RPSC RAS result is announced after the completion of the assessment process. First, the preliminary result is released on the official website of the Rajasthan Commission, provided above. The result can be checked by the candidates using the steps given below:
