The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has officially released the result for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) regarding the Jharkhand Excise Constable Competitive Examination (JECCE-2023). The result was declared on November 28, 2025, through Notice-13. The Jharkhand Excise Constable (Utpad Sipahi) recruitment is one of the most anticipated drives by the JSSC. The notification (Advertisement No. 06/2023) was released back in 2023 to fill 583 vacancies in the Excise Department. Unlike many other exams, the selection process for this post started with a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), followed by a Written Exam, and finally a Medical Check-up. The recent result declaration marks the completion of the first and most physically demanding phase.

Cut Off Marks Analysis (Previous Year 2019)
It is crucial to understand that the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is qualifying in nature. This means there are no marks awarded for running; you simply pass or fail based on completing the race within the time limit (10 km in 60 mins for men, 5 km in 40 mins for women). Therefore, there is no Cut Off score for the PET result declared today.
However, the Final Merit List will be prepared solely based on the marks obtained in the upcoming Written Examination. Written Exam Cut Off Comparison
The written exam consists of three papers, but the merit is usually decided based on Paper 2 (Regional Language) and Paper 3 (General Knowledge).
| Category | Previous Year Cut Off |
| General (UR) | 470 |
| OBC (BC-I/II) | 450 |
| SC | 440 |
| ST | 401 |
Note: cut-off figures are cumulative (Paper 2 + Paper 3).
What is Next After the Result?
Now that the PET results are out. Only those who have physically qualified will move to the next stage.
Written Examination
The written exam will be conducted in OMR mode. It is the most critical stage because your final selection depends entirely on the marks scored here.
The Written Exam is divided into Three Papers:
| Paper 1: Language Knowledge (Qualifying Only) |
|
| Paper 2: Regional/Tribal Language |
|
| Paper 3: General Knowledge |
|
Final Stage: Medical Examination
Candidates who clear the written exam cut-off will be called for a medical check-up to ensure they do not have conditions like night blindness, hearing loss, stammering, flat foot, or knock knees.

Preparation Strategy for Written Exam
- Focus on Jharkhand GK: Paper 3 has 50 questions dedicated to Jharkhand alone. This is the highest weightage section. Read standard books like Jharkhand Saar Sangrah.
- Master Your Regional Language: Scoring 80-90% in the regional language paper is possible and can increase your rank.
- Don’t Ignore Paper 1: Although qualifying, failing Paper 1 means your other papers won’t be considered. Ensure you practice basic Hindi and English grammar.
- Math & Science: These 30 questions (20 Science + 10 Math) are often basic 10th-level questions. Regular practice can guarantee full marks here.
