Preparation Tips

  • For the vast majority of posts (like Research Officer, Staff Nurse, Research Assistant, Lab Technologist), your specific subject knowledge (e.g., B.Sc Nursing, M.Pharm, BAMS, M.Sc Botany) accounts for 70 out of 100 marks (or 35/70 for Group A). This should be your main focus. Thoroughly revise your degree/diploma/PG syllabus.
  • All posts, except for MTS, have a 0.25 negative marking for wrong answers. This means you should prioritize accuracy over speed and avoid random guessing. For the MTS post, you should attempt all questions since there is no penalty.
  • You have 90 minutes for 100 questions (Group B & C) or 60 minutes for the 70-mark CBT (Group A). This requires you to be quick and decisive. Practice full-length mock tests under timed conditions to find your rhythm.
  • The sections on General Awareness, Aptitude, Reasoning, and IT/Computing make up 20-30 marks. These can be the deciding factor in your selection. Dedicate a part of your study routine to:
    • General Awareness: Current events (especially the last 6 months), static GK.
    • Reasoning: Puzzles, seating arrangements, coding-decoding, and other common topics.
    • IT & Computing: Basics of computers, MS Office, internet, and common shortcuts.

Admit Card

Admit cards for the computer-based test will not be sent by post. They will be hosted on the same online registration portal.

  • Candidates will be notified via E-mail and SMS when admit cards are available.
  • Candidates must log in using their credentials to download and take a print-out of their admit card.
  • It is mandatory to bring the printed admit card and a valid original Photo Identification Card (such as Aadhaar, PAN Card, Driving License, etc.) to the examination hall.

Result

The final selection process is based on the following criteria:

  • Group B & C: Final selection is based on the marks and rank obtained in the online CBT.
  • Group A: Final selection is based on the combined marks of the CBT (70) and the Interview (30).

The final selection will be based on the candidate’s overall merit/rank within their category relative to the number of available vacancies.

Tie-Breaker Rules

In the event that two or more candidates secure same marks in the CBT, the tie will be resolved by applying the following methods in order:

  1. Candidates older in age will be placed higher.
  2. Candidates with more marks in the main subject (Part 1 of the syllabus) will be placed higher.
  3. Candidates with more marks in the second subject (Part 2 of the syllabus) will be placed higher.
  4. Candidates who acquired the essential degree/diploma earlier will be placed higher.
  5. Candidates with higher final aggregate marks in the essential qualification will be placed higher.
