RRB JE Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The Railway Recruitment Board Junior Engineer (RRB JE) examination is a highly competitive national level exam conducted to recruit Junior Engineers and related technical posts in Indian Railways. The second stage of the selection process, commonly referred to as RRB JE CBT-2, is designed to assess candidates’ technical knowledge, general awareness, and problem-solving abilities relevant to engineering roles.

The CBT 2 examination consists of 150 objective-type questions, carrying a total of 150 marks, and is conducted in 120 minutes (with additional time for scribe-eligible candidates). The paper includes questions from Technical Abilities, General Awareness, Physics & Chemistry, Computers, and Environment & Pollution Control. A negative marking of 1/3rd mark is applied for each incorrect answer, making accuracy as important as speed.

RRB JE CBT-2 plays a crucial role in determining a candidate’s final merit position, as it evaluates both technical competence and overall aptitude required for efficient performance in railway engineering services.
