Age Limit Required For Eastern Railway RRC ER Kolkata Various Trade Apprentices

Age Limit Relaxation For RRC ER Apprentice
The age limit relaxation for RRC ER Apprentice according to different categories is mentioned below:
- SC/ST – 5 yrs
- OBC – 3 yrs
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) – 10 yrs
The maximum age limit is extendable to an extra 10 years for Ex-SM (ex-serviceman) up to the period of service actually rendered in Defence Forces and 03 years additional period provided it is minimum 06 months continuous service put in. However, Ex-servicemen who already have joined Government Service on the Civil side after utilizing their Ex- servicemen status for engagement, shall not be eligible.

Educational Qualification For RRC ER Apprentice
The candidates should have obtained a pass certificate for the 10th class or equivalent (under 10+2 examination structure) with a minimum of 50 percent marks from a recognized Board. They should also possess a National Trade Certificate in the well published trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
Application Process For RRC ER Apprentice Recruitment
The application process for RRC ER Apprentice Recruitment 2024 is as follows.

Application Fees For RRC ER Apprentice Recruitment
To apply for RRC ER Apprentice Recruitment 2024, applicants are required to pay non-refundable fee of 100/-

While filling out the online application form, applicants are required to remit the fees via the online ‘Payment Gateway’. The options for the payment mode can be debit card, credit card, or internet banking. The applicant shall pay for any transaction fees that may arise from the online payment. During crowded times, there might be technical issues with the servers, which may affect the online transaction services. If this happens, the applicant will need to sign in all over again.
Selection Procedure For RRC ER Apprentice Recruitment
- Amongst candidates aspiring for any training vacancy in a Unit in Eastern Railway, merit will be the most important criterion. This merit list will be computed based on the details filled by the candidates in the online application form. Candidates must make sure that the information provided by them is true and accurate, as the Railway Administration may take action and cancel their candidature for any false declaration made.
- The Select list for Document Verification (DV) will be prepared by taking an average of Matriculation and ITI examination marks. Appearing candidates’ Trades, Units and Communities will have separate merit lists. It is important to note that there shall not be any common merit list.
- The merit list of candidates who are eligible for the position will be made by taking into account the average percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in the Matriculation examination and in the ITI examination where minimum cum 50 % aggregate marks are obtained in the Matriculation. Equal weight-age will be given to both. For example, if a candidate has secured 80.58% in Matriculation examination and 91.68% in ITI examination, the selective marks will be (80.58 + 91.68) / 2 = 86. 13.
Medical Fitness:
- Every individual who fulfills the minimum physical fitness requirements as prescribed in the above Act and Rules is qualified for the placement training as provided for under the Apprentices Act of 1961, and the Apprenticeship Rules of 1992, and all amendments thereof.
- As stated in Railway Board letter No. E(MPP)/2009/6/14, medical certificate (as per the Apprentice Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1992 cl. 4 and their amendments) is to be submitted by the candidates in the prescribed format.
- The medical certificate should be signed by a doctor approved by the government (Gaz.) not below the rank of an Assistant.

Final Selection and Allotment:
- An applicant’s final selection will be determined after considering the overall merits of the merit list, document check and medical examination. It is also clarified that RRC Eastern Railway caterer will allot the apprenticeship placements to the eligible candidate as per the work vacancies existing in different trades or divisions.
Training and Joining:
- After selection, candidates will undergo the required apprenticeship training program according to their specific trades or departments. They will undergo suitable training and initiate their apprenticeship under the guidance of qualified railway workers.
Document Verification For RRC ER Apprentice Recruitment
Candidates who have made it to the merit list in the RRC ER Apprentice Recruitment 2024 process will be called for document verification. The candidates will have to produce their original documents and certificates for verification at all times during the process.
