ITBP ASI, HC, Constable Medical Post, Syllabus, Qualification 2024
Applications for the medical posts of ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police), ASI, HC, and Constable are invited from the interested candidates. There are a total of 20 posts, which include the post of ASI Laboratory technician, physiotherapist, OT technician, radiographer, constable, etc.
The important dates are as follows:
Dates of registration: October 28th, 2024 to November 26th, 2024.
Last date of payment of fee: November 26th, 2024.
Let us discuss the vacancies according to the positions.
For the post of ASI Laboratory technician, the total vacancies are -7.
For the post of ASI Radiographer, the total number of posts is -3.
For the post of ASI OT, the total number of posts is 1 only.
For the post of constable, the total number of vacancies is 1 only.
For the post of head constable (central sterilization room assistant), the total number of vacancies is 1 only.
For the posts of constable telephone operator and cum receptionist, the total number of vacancies is -2.
For the post of constable linenkeeper, the vacancy is 1 only.
For the post of ASI Technician, the vacancy is only -1.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- AGE LIMIT
The age limit is based on the posts.
The minimum age for the post of ASI Laboratory Technician and Radiographer is 20 years and
The maximum age is 28 years.
The age limit for posts other than ASI Laboratory Technician and Radiographer is:
Minimum age: 18 years.
maximum age: 25 years.
- EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
For the post of ASI Laboratory Technician, the educational qualification of the candidate should be that he shall have passed the 12th class examination with physics, chemistry, and biology as subjects and have done a diploma in medical laboratory technology. The candidate shall also have 1 year of experience.
For the post of ASI Physiotherapist, the candidate shall have passed the class 12th examination and have a certification or diploma in physiotherapy.
For the post of ASI OT technician, the candidate shall have passed the class 12th examination and diploma or certification in operation theater technician.
For the post of head constable (central sterilization room assistant), the candidate shall have passed the class 12th examination and have a certification in central sterilization room assistant.
For the post of constable telephone operator cum receptionist, the candidate must have passed the class 10th examination and shall have 1 year of experience as a telephone operator in an office or a hospital.
For the post of constable peon, the candidate shall have passed the class 10th examination.
For the post of constable dresser, the candidate shall have a class 10th examination and have a year of experience as a dresser in a hospital or clinic.
For the post of constable linen keeper, the candidate shall have passed the class 10th examination and have 1 year of experience in handling linen in any organization.
APPLICATION PROCESS
The candidates interested in any of the ITBP ASI, HC, or constable posts have to fill out an application form to be able to appear in the examination of the same.

- Click on the latest recruitments.
- Press the login button and finish the registration process.
- Login with your provided credentials.
- Provide all the necessary information in the application form.
- Upload the scanned documents requested.
- Pay the application fee.
- Submit the form and print a copy of it.
APPLICATION FEE
The application fee for the general OBC or EWS male candidates is 100 INR, while the female candidates or the SC/ST candidates are exempt from paying the application fee.
The application fee for the post of head constable recruitment is 100 INR.
EXAM PATTERN AND SYLLABUS
The selection process for the ITBP recruitment posts involves 5 steps:
- Physical Efficiency Test: In this step, candidates have to go through an initial screening to assess physical fitness
- Physical Standard Test: In this step, the physical standards or measurements of the candidate are taken to determine whether they match the required standards or not.
- Written examination: this is the third-step process, and it is based on knowledge and skills.
- Medical examination: it is based on health and fitness standards.
- Document verification: this is the final step, and it ensures the authenticity of the credentials of the candidate.
EXAM PATTERN FOR HEAD CONSTABLE POST
The first stage, i.e., PET for male candidates, is as such:
The male candidate has to complete a 1.6 km race within 7.30 minutes and shall cover an 11-foot-long jump in 3 chances and a 3.5-foot-high jump in 3 chances.
For female candidates, they shall complete an 800-meter race within 4.45 minutes, cover 9 feet 9-foot-long jump in 3 chances, and 3-foot-high jump in 3 chances as well.
The PST is as such:
For all candidates except ST, the males shall have a height of 165 cm, a chest without expansion of 77 cm, and a chest with an expansion of 82 cm, while the females shall have a height of 155 cm.
For the ST candidates, the males shall have a height of 162.5 cm and females of 150 cm. Males shall have a chest without expansion of 77 cm and with expansion of 82 cm.
The written examination for this post carries 100 marks of objective type. The duration is of 2 hours. The subjects for this stage include general English, general Hindi, psychology, quantitative aptitude, and general awareness. All the subjects carry 10 questions of 1 mark each other than psychology, which carries 60 questions of 1 mark each.
SYLLABUS FOR ASI
Subjects include general reasoning, general awareness, general English and Hindi, and trade or profession-related subjects (in the case of Laboratory technician, human anatomy, clinical hematology, clinical microbiology, routine examination of body fluids, and introduction and lab instruments handling). These subjects in total carry 60 questions; 60 marks.
(in the case of radiographers, human anatomy, English, the basics of computer application, medical ethics, radiology, x-ray machines and their maintenance, x-ray film or image processing, clinical radiography, equipment basics, contrast and special radiography, and quality control in radiology). These subjects in total carry 60 questions; 60 marks.
(in the case of a physiotherapist, human anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, pathology, microbiology, exercise therapy, electrotherapy, basics of surgery, basics of computer, biomechanics, RNT, ophthalmology, gynecology, orthotics, medicine, pediatrics, cardiology conditions, etc.) These subjects in total carry 50 questions; 50 marks.
(in the case of an OT technician, anatomy, pathology, microbiology, biochemistry, practice of surgery, pharmacology, computer basics, basics of anesthesia, special surgeries, instrumental trolley maintenance and diathermy, OT lights, etc.). These subjects in total carry 50 questions; 50 marks. In the case of an OT technician, English and Hindi carry 15 questions for 15 marks in total.
