(Magister Chirurguie) or any equivalent degree with a super speciality three-year training completed after their first postgraduate degree in order to qualify for the position.

Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant)

• The total number of Vaccines for the CAPF Medical Officer Post is 176.
• The candidate needs to possess a medical degree validated from sustained medical institution in the allopathy stream.
• Those with qualifications listed in Part II of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 shall also comply with provisions of Subsection (3) of Section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
• The applicant shall possess permanent registration with MCI/NMC/State Medical council.
• Completion of the compulsory rotating internship.
• Postgraduate (PG) degree/diploma in the relevant specialty.
• Two years after obtaining a PG Diploma in a particular specialization, one will spend 1.5 years in that given specialization.

Medical Officer (Assistant Commandant)

• The total number of Vaccines for the CAPF Medical Officer Post is 164.
• The Indian Medical Council Act of 1956 contains such medical qualifications related to the system of allopathic medicine in first or second schedules or Part II of third schedule only (excluding licentiate).
• In addition to the qualifications stated in part II of the third schedule, holders of such educational qualifications shall also comply with the provisions of Subsection (3) of Section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
• For appointment in any of the CAPFs, an applicant is required to possess permanent registration from any MCI/NMC/State Medical Council first.
• Successful completion of the obligatory rotating internship.

Age Limit For CAPF ITBP Medical Officer

The upper age limit is post dependent. 

• Super Specialist Medical Officer: Age limit of 50 years.
• Specialist Medical Officer: Not Exceeding 40 years. 
• Medical Officer (Assistant Commandant): Not Exceeding 30 years.

Candidates applying under OBC category will benefit with a three-year upper age limit relaxation. On the other hand, applicants from SC/ST/Central Government Employees and Ex-servicemen categories will be given a five-year age ceiling relaxation.

Total Number of Attempts For ITBP Medical Officer

The Medical Officer Selection Board has not set any limit on the number of attempts a candidate can make for the MOSB CAPF position. The candidates will be able to apply for the post until they cross the upper age limit fixed.

Selection Process For CAPF ITBP Medical Officer 

The ITBP Medical Officer Recruitment process is a multi-stage selection process.

• Documentation: Documentation pertains to the process of verification of documents and eligibility criteria.
• Interview: This section consists of 200 marks where the candidates general knowledge and academic abilities, personality and leadership qualities are tested. The minimum passing score is 80 out of 200.
• Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates will be separated on the basis of height, chest, and weight.
• Medical Examination Test (MET): A complete medical examination given by an authorized board of members. 
• Review medical examination (RME): A review medical examination (RME) is given to a candidate, who was determined unfit at first instance. 

Physical Standards For CAPF Medical Officer

Height

• Male – 157.5 cm
• Female – 142 cm
• A 2-cm relaxation is applicable for candidates from the states of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
• Caste Tribes are allowed a three-centimetre reduction.

Chest

• Male – 82 cm Expanded

Salary for CAPF Medical Officer 

In the ITBP, compensation ranges for the different medical officers’ posts are: In the case of Super salary for Specialist Medical Officers (Deputy Commandant) ranges from Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700, while for Medical Officers (Assistant Commandant), it ranges from Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500.
