UPSC Translator, Assistant Mining Engineer: Selection Process
The selection process primarily revolves around shortlisting and an interview, rather than a traditional written exam.
- Shortlisting: If the number of applications is large, the Commission may restrict candidates called for the interview using criteria such as Desirable Qualifications (DQ), higher educational qualifications, higher experience, or by holding a Recruitment Test (RT).
- Recruitment Test (RT): If an RT is held, candidates must achieve a minimum level of suitability in the test (decided on a case-to-case basis) to proceed to the interview.
- Interview Suitability Marks: Out of a total of 100 marks in the interview, the category-wise minimum suitability marks are:
- UR: 50 Marks
- OBC: 45 Marks
- SC/ST: 40 Marks
8.Application Process
- Visit the Portal: Go to the official UPSC Online Recruitment Application website at https://upsconline.nic.in/ora/.
- Registration: Register to generate your Universal Registration Number (URN), which is common for all UPSC recruitments.
- Fill the Application: Fill out the Common Application Form (CAF) and the specific Post/Vacancy module to generate your Application Number.
- Live Photo & Signature: You must capture and upload a live photograph during the process. Additionally, sign three times on a plain white paper with black ink and upload the clear image.
- Upload Documents: Upload all requisite certificates as separate PDF files. This includes Date of Birth proof, Educational Degrees, Experience Certificates (in prescribed format), Caste/Disability certificates, etc..
- Payment of Fee: Pay the Rs. 25/- fee online via Visa/Master/Rupay Credit/Debit Card, UPI, or Internet Banking. (Skip this step if you belong to an exempted category ).
- Final Submission: Submit the form carefully. No alterations or modifications are allowed after final submission. Take a printout of the submitted application for your records and for the interview stage.
