Full Information About Agniveervayu Intake Intake 2/2026

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced the official notification for unmarried Indian male and female candidates to join as Agniveervayu under the Agnipath Scheme. This is a great opportunity for young people to live the military life and serve the country for four years.

The selection test for Agniveervayu Intake 02/2026 will begin from 25 September 2025. After four years, up to 25% of each batch may be selected for regular service in the IAF based on their performance and the force’s needs.

The IAF makes it clear that the recruitment process is fair, transparent, and based only on merit. Candidates are warned not to pay any bribes or trust fake agents.

Vacancy Details

Applications are open for unmarried male and female candidates. The total number of vacancies is not mentioned. The number of female candidates will be decided as per service needs.

Vacancies are divided state-wise. The Provisional Select List (PSL) and enrolment list will also be prepared state-wise.

Eligibility Criteria

Age: Candidates born between 02 July 2005 and 02 January 2009 (both dates inclusive) can apply. The maximum age at enrolment is 21 years. There is no relaxation in the age limit.

Education: Candidates must have at least 50% marks in English. Percentages will not be rounded off.

For Science Subjects:
  • Passed 10+2 with Maths, Physics, and English (50% in aggregate and English), or
  • Completed 3-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, etc.) with 50% marks, or
  • Completed 2-year Vocational Course with Physics and Maths with 50% marks.
For Other than Science Subjects:
  • Passed 10+2 in any stream with 50% marks in aggregate and English, or
  • Completed 2-year Vocational Course with 50% marks in aggregate and English.

Candidates eligible for Science Subjects can also take both exams in one sitting.

Marital Status and Pregnancy:
Only unmarried candidates can apply. Marriage during the four-year service will lead to discharge. Female candidates must not be pregnant before joining or during service; otherwise, they will be disqualified or discharged.

Physical and Medical Standards

Candidates must be physically and mentally fit for duty anywhere.

Height:

  • Male: Minimum 152 cms
  • Female: Minimum 152 cms
    (Relaxation: North East and Uttarakhand – 147 cms; Lakshadweep – 150 cms with domicile proof)

Weight: Must match age and height.
Chest:

  • Male: Minimum 77 cms with 5 cms expansion
  • Female: Well-proportioned with 5 cms expansion
    Hearing: Able to hear a forced whisper from 6 meters.
    Dental: Healthy gums and a minimum of 14 dental points.
    Vision: 6/12 each eye, correctable to 6/6; Colour Vision CP-II; LASIK/PRK not allowed.

Other Rules:
Permanent tattoos are not allowed except on inner forearms, back of the hand, or tribal tattoos. Sikh candidates can keep hair and beard as per faith. Drug use is not allowed.

Applications will be accepted from 11 July to 31 July 2025. Candidates must use a valid email ID, mobile number, and Aadhaar (except J&K, Ladakh, Assam, and Meghalaya).

Documents to Upload:

  • Class 10 passing certificate
  • 10+2/Diploma/Vocational mark sheets
  • Domicile or COAFP certificate
  • Recent colour photo (taken after June 2025, 10–100 KB, with name and date on a black slate)
  • Left thumb impression, signature, and parent/guardian’s signature if under 18

After four years, Agniveervayu will receive a Seva Nidhi of about ₹10.04 lakh (including own and government share, excluding interest). No pension or gratuity will be given.

Selection Process

Phase-I: Online Test
Objective-type test in English and Hindi (except English paper).

Phase-II:
Shortlisted candidates will go to an Airmen Selection Centre for:

  • Document Verification
  • Physical Fitness Test (Running and Exercises)
  • Adaptability Test-I (written suitability test)
  • Adaptability Test-II (military environment test)

Phase-III: Medical Exam
Includes blood, urine, X-ray, ECG, and other standard tests. Candidates found unfit can appeal to the Appeal Medical Board.

Exam Pattern

Marking:
1 mark for correct answer, 0 for unattempted, -0.25 for wrong answer. Marks will be normalized.

  • The PFT is part of the Phase-II selection process. Candidates who qualify the online (Phase-I) test will be called to a designated Airmen Selection Centre (ASC) to undergo the PFT.The PFT consists of two parts: PFT-I and PFT-II.

    This test requires candidates to complete a 1.6 Km run within a specified time

    Candidates who successfully qualify PFT-I will proceed to PFT-II after a 10-minute recuperation period The exercises and timings are different for male and female candidates.

    For Male Candidates 

    The exercises must be completed in the following sequence:

    • 10 Push-ups:
      • Max Time: 1 minute.
      • Remarks: This test is conducted after a 10-minute break upon completion of the 1.6 Km run.
      10 Sit-ups:
      • Max Time: 1 minute.
      • Remarks: This test is conducted after a 2-minute break upon completion of the push-ups.
      20 Squats:
      • Max Time: 1 minute.
      • Remarks: This test is conducted after a 2-minute break upon completion of the sit-ups.
    1. For Female Candidates The exercises must be completed in the following sequence
      10 Sit-ups
      • Max Time: 1 minute and 30 seconds.
      • Remarks: This test is conducted after a 10-minute break upon completion of the 1.6 Km run.
      15 Squats:
      • Max Time: 1 minute.
      • Remarks: This test is conducted after a 2-minute break upon completion of the sit-ups.

Result and Enrolment

  • Phase-I Result: Uploaded on the CASB portal after exams.
  • Provisional Select List (PSL): Released on 15 May 2026, prepared state-wise. Inclusion does not guarantee final selection.
  • Enrolment List: Final list released on 01 June 2026, with e-call letters sent to selected candidates.

Admit Card

  • Phase-I: Send 48–72 hours before the exam to your email and available on the website. Bring a colour printout and Aadhaar card.
  • Phase-II: Sent via email to shortlisted candidates. Bring colour printouts of both Phase-I and Phase-II admit cards (with the IAF seal).
