Agniveer Vayu Intake 1/2027: Exam Pattern

The selection process for Agniveer Vayu is rigorous and multi-staged. It begins with an Online Test (Phase-I), followed by Physical Fitness and Adaptability Tests (Phase-II), and finally, a Medical Examination.

Phase-I: Online Test Pattern

All registered candidates will receive provisional admit cards 48-72 hours before the exam. The online test is objective type and bilingual (English and Hindi), except for the English paper itself.

Agniveer Vayu Intake 1/2027: Marking Scheme

The marking pattern is strict to ensure only meritorious candidates qualify:

  • Correct Answer: One mark (+1).
  • Unattempted Question: Nil (0) marks
  • Wrong Answer: 0.25 marks deducted.

Note: Marks scored in Phase-I will be “Normalised” to account for variations in difficulty levels across different exam sessions Candidates must qualify in each paper individually.

Phase-II: Physical Fitness and Adaptability Tests

Candidates shortlisted based on their normalized Phase-I marks will be called for Phase-II at a designated Airmen Selection Centre (ASC).

Adaptability Tests:

  • Adaptability Test-I: An objective type written test to assess the candidate’s suitability for employment in the IAF, involving deployment in varied terrains and operational conditions.
  • Adaptability Test-II: Designed to select candidates who can adapt to the IAF environment and adjust to the military way of life.

Medical Standards

Candidates must be physically and mentally fit to perform duties in any part of the world.

  • Height: Minimum 152 cms for males and females (Relaxations apply for North East/Hilly regions/Lakshadweep)
  • Hearing: Should be able to hear a forced whisper from 6 meters.
  • Visual Standards: Visual acuity of 6/12 in each eye, correctable to 6/6. Note that candidates with a history of LASIK/PRK are not accepted.

Important Financial Benefits (Seva Nidhi)

Upon completion of the four-year engagement, Agniveers will receive a “Seva Nidhi” package. This consists of their monthly contribution (~₹5.02 Lakh total) matched by the Government, totaling approximately ₹10.04 Lakhs (excluding interest). Additionally, they receive a life insurance cover of ₹48 Lakhs during their service.

The Indian Air Force Agniveer Vayu written test consists of objective-type questions from four main subjects depending on the group you choose (Science or Other than Science). The syllabus is mainly based on the 10+2 CBSE level.
