UPPSC ATP Pre Answer Key : Selection Process

| Stage 1 | Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) | The Preliminary Examination is objective in nature. 0.33 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer (negative marking). Candidates who qualify this stage are shortlisted for the Main Examination. |
| Stage 2 | Main Examination (Descriptive Type) | The Main Examination is descriptive and consists of Paper I: General Hindi & Essay and Paper II: Town & Country Planning. Each paper is of 3 hours duration, and the total marks are 300. Only candidates who qualify the Preliminary Examination can appear for the Main Examination. The final merit is prepared based on the marks obtained in the Main Examination. |
| Stage 3 | Document Verification (DV) | Candidates shortlisted after the Main Examination are called for Document Verification. They must produce original documents related to educational qualifications, age, category, identity proof, and other required certificates. |
| Stage 4 | Medical Examination | Candidates who successfully complete Document Verification undergo a Medical Examination to ensure they meet the prescribed physical fitness standards as per UPPSC norms. Final selection is subject to successful document verification and medical fitness. |
