Introduction
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Hindi Translators Examination, 2025, to recruit eligible candidates for various Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted posts. These posts include Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) in different Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India. This Open Competitive Computer-Based Examination offers a prestigious opportunity for individuals proficient in both Hindi and English to join the central government workforce.
Recently, SSC has also released the date for the JHT Paper 2 examination, making it an important update for all candidates preparing for the next stage of the selection process.

SSC JHT: Vacancy Details
The Commission has announced the tentative number of vacancies for the 2025 examination.
- Total Tentative Vacancies: Earlier it was 437 but later on it was increased to 552
- The firm number of vacancies will be determined in due course. Updated vacancies, including post-wise and category-wise breakdowns, will be made available on the Commission’s website. State-wise or Zone-wise vacancies are not collected by the Commission.

Age Limit
- For Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF: 18-30 years as on the closing date of receipt of application (26.06.2025). Candidates must be born not before 25-06-1995 and not later than 26-06-2007.
- For all other posts: 18-30 years as on 01-08-2025. Candidates must be born not before 02-08-1995 and not later than 01-08-2007.

SSC JHT: Selection Process
- Computer Based Examination (Paper-I): Candidates are shortlisted for Paper-II based on marks scored in Paper-I.
- Descriptive Paper (Paper-II): Candidates must appear for this paper which tests translation and essay writing skills.
- Document Verification: Conducted by User Departments/Organizations after the declaration of the final result.
- Medical Examination: Conducted by User Departments after the declaration of the result.
Minimum qualifying marks in the Computer Based Examination are 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS, and 20% for all other categories.

Note:
- Paper-I consists of Objective Type Multiple Choice questions.
- There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.
- Paper-II will contain two passages for translation (one Hindi to English and one English to Hindi) and an Essay each in Hindi and English.

For the post of Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF and posts in BRO, candidates must meet specific physical standards.

Note: Candidates must also meet medical standards regarding eyesight (6/6 in one eye, 6/9 in the other without correction) and be free from physical defects like knock knee, flat foot, etc.

Admit Card
Admission Certificates (Admit Cards) for the Computer Based Examination will be issued online on the websites of the Commission.
- Candidates must regularly visit the SSC website (https://ssc.gov.in) and the Regional Office websites.
- Information about the City/Centre of examination will be uploaded about 10 days before the examination.
- The facility to download the Admission Certificate will be available 2-3 days before the examination.
- Candidates must bring a printout of the Admission Certificate and two passport-size recent color photographs and original valid Photo-ID proof to the exam hall.
Result
- Final selection and allocation of Ministry/Department/Organization will be based on the performance in Paper-I & Paper-II and the preference of Posts/Departments exercised by the candidates.
- There will be separate category-wise cut-offs in Paper-I & Paper-II.
- The Commission does not maintain a waiting list or reserve list.
