Educational Qualification

Application Fee and Process :
The application fee for the SSC CGL exam is ₹100 (One Hundred Rupees). However, some candidates do not have to pay this fee, they are:
- All Women candidates
- Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC)
- Candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes (ST)
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
- Ex-Servicemen (ESM)
The fee can be paid online using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards.
Application Process
The application must be submitted online through the official SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in. The process involves two main parts:
- One-Time Registration (OTR): If you are a new user, you first need to register on the SSC website. This is a one-time process where you provide your basic details like name, date of birth, mobile number, email, and educational qualifications.
- Filling the Application Form: After registration, you can log in with your registration number and password to fill out the application form for the CGL examination. You will need to provide your preference for exam centers and upload a live photograph and a scanned signature.

The Assistant Section Officer (ASO) in the Ministry of Railways is a Pay Level-7 post. The pay scale for this level is ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400.
This is a very good salary for a graduate-level government job. SSC CGL ASO in Ministry of Railways : Selection Process
The selection for the ASO post happens in different stages. The SSC CGL exam is designed to test your knowledge and skills properly.
The exam has two main stages, called tiers:
- Tier-I Examination: This is the first exam and is computer-based. It is a screening test. If you pass this exam, you can appear for the Tier-II exam.
- Tier-II Examination: This is the second and final exam stage. It is also computer-based. For the ASO post, you only need to appear for Paper-I of Tier-II. Your final selection depends on your score in this exam.
- Post Preference: Before the final result, you will be asked to fill an online form to choose your preferred posts and departments. You will only be considered for the posts you select.
- Document Verification (DV): After the final result, the Ministry of Railways will call you for document verification. You must bring all your original documents.
