1. Introduction

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the recruitment for the post of Constable (Executive) for both Male and Female candidates in the Delhi Police for the year 2025. 3. Vacancy Details

This year, the Delhi Police has announced a large number of vacancies for the post of Constable. The total number of vacancies is 7565. The vacancies are divided among different categories for both male and female candidates.

4. Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Delhi Police Constable position, candidates must meet certain eligibility criteria regarding their nationality, age, and educational qualifications.

Nationality/Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualification

The educational qualification required for the post is as follows:

  • General Candidates: Must have passed 10+2 (Senior Secondary) from a recognized Board.
  • For Sons/Daughters of Delhi Police Personnel & Others: The educational qualification is relaxed up to 11th pass for the sons/daughters of serving, retired, or deceased Delhi Police personnel/Multi-Tasking Staff of Delhi Police, and also for Bandsmen, buglers, mounted constables, drivers, dispatch riders, etc. of Delhi Police only.
  • Driving License: Male candidates must have a valid driving license for LMV (Motorcycle or Car) on the date of the PE&MT. A Learner License is not acceptable.

Age Limit (as on 01-07-2025)

  • The candidate must be between 18 to 25 years of age.
  • Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02-07-2000 and not later than 01-07-2007.

Age Relaxation: There is relaxation in the upper age limit for certain categories.

5. Application Fee and Process

Candidates must apply for the examination online through the official SSC website.

Application Fee:

  • The application fee is ₹100 (Rupees One Hundred only).
  • Women candidates, and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) are not required to pay the fee.

How to Apply:

  1. Candidates must first complete their One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in.
  2. After OTR, log in with your registration number and password to fill the online application form for the "Constable (Executive) Male and Female in Delhi Police Examination, 2025".
  3. The application module will capture a live photograph of the candidate. A scanned signature in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB) is also required.
  4. Pay the application fee online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards.
  5. Before final submission, review all the details carefully. Once submitted, take a printout of the application form for your records.

6. Salary

Selected candidates for the post of Constable (Executive) in Delhi Police will be offered a good salary package. The post comes under Pay Level-3. The salary structure is as follows:

  • Pay Scale: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100
  • This is a Group 'C' post. Apart from the basic pay, selected candidates will also be entitled to various allowances like Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA) as per the rules.

7. Selection Process

The selection process for the Delhi Police Constable is a multi-stage process. Candidates need to clear each stage to be considered for the final selection. The stages are:

  1. Computer-Based Examination (CBE): This is the first stage. It is an objective-type multiple-choice paper.
  2. Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT): Candidates who qualify the CBE will be called for the PE&MT. This test is qualifying in nature, meaning you only need to pass it; the marks are not added to the final merit list.
  3. Document Verification (DV): Candidates who clear the PE&MT will have their documents verified by the Delhi Police.
  4. Medical Examination: Finally, candidates who pass the above stages will undergo a medical examination to ensure they are medically fit for the job.

The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the Computer-Based Examination only, provided they have qualified in the PE&MT and are medically fit.

8. Exam Pattern

The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) will have one paper with 100 questions, carrying a total of 100 marks. The duration of the exam will be 90 minutes.

  • Negative Marking: There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

9. Syllabus

Here is a brief overview of the topics for each subject in the Computer-Based Examination.

  • Part-A: General Knowledge/Current Affairs:
    • Questions will test the candidate's general awareness of the environment around them.
    • Topics include India and its neighboring countries, Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Indian Economy, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research.
    • Special focus on current events of national and international importance.
  • Part-B: Reasoning:
    • This section will test analytical aptitude and the ability to observe patterns.
    • Topics include analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, visual memory, discrimination, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding.
  • Part-C: Numerical Ability:
    • This section will test basic mathematical skills.
    • Topics include Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work.
  • Part-D: Computer Knowledge:
    • This section will test basic computer literacy.
    • Topics include Elements of Word Processing (MS Word), MS Excel (Spreadsheets), Communication (Basics of E-mail), Internet, WWW, and Web Browsers (Services on Internet, URL, HTTP, FTP, Websites, Blogs, Search Engines, Chat, Video conferencing, e-Banking).

12. Result

The results for each stage of the examination will be declared separately.

  • CBE Result: The result of the Computer-Based Examination will be declared on the SSC website. Candidates who score above the cut-off marks will be shortlisted for the PE&MT.
  • Final Result: The final result will be declared by the SSC based on the candidate's performance in the CBE, subject to qualifying the PE&MT and the Medical Examination. The final merit list will be published on the SSC's official website. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official websites of both SSC and Delhi Police for updates regarding the results.

11. Admit Card

The admit card is a mandatory document to enter the examination hall.

  • For Computer-Based Examination (CBE): The admit card will be uploaded on the official website of the SSC (https://ssc.gov.in/) approximately 3-7 days before the examination date. Candidates need to download and print it.
  • For Physical Endurance & Measurement Test (PE&MT): The admit cards for candidates shortlisted for the PE&MT will be issued by the Delhi Police on its official website (https://delhipolice.gov.in/).
  • Candidates must carry a printout of their admit card, along with a valid photo ID proof (like Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving License) and recent passport-size photographs to the examination center.

10. Preparation Tips

  • Before starting your preparation, go through the syllabus and exam pattern in detail. This will help you know what to study and how to manage your time during the exam.
  • Make a realistic study plan and stick to it. Allocate time for each subject based on your strengths and weaknesses.
  • Read newspapers and magazines daily to stay updated with current events, especially for the General Knowledge section, which carries the most weightage.
  • Solving previous year's question papers will give you an idea about the type of questions asked and help you improve your speed and accuracy.
  • Regularly take mock tests to assess your preparation level. Analyze your performance to identify areas that need more attention.
  • Along with written exam preparation, focus on your physical fitness. Regular running, long jump, and high jump practice is essential to clear the PE&MT.
  • Revision is key to retaining what you have studied. Make short notes for quick revision before the exam.
