The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has announced new rules for hiring Home Guards. This is a big new job opportunity. A new official notice was released on November 3, 2025, which changes all the old rules for hiring.
The biggest change is that the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) will now handle all the hiring. This is the same board that hires police constables. This change is meant to make the hiring process fair and clear for everyone.

Application Process

One-Time Registration (OTR)
First you must complete the OTR on the UPPRPB website (for any prior recruitment too).
• Use a unique mobile number & email ID.
• Upload required identity proof (Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID etc.
• Once done, you’ll have registration credentials for future steps. -
Filling the Application Form
• Log in with OTR credentials.
• Select the “Home Guard Recruitment 2025” link.
• Enter required personal, educational & domicile details carefully.
• Upload scanned photo, signature and other documents in the prescribed format -
Pay Application Fee (if applicable)
• According to sources, for some categories the fee may be zero (or minimal).
• Payment modes: Net banking / debit-credit card etc. -
Submit & Print Application
• Review all entered details before submission.
• Submit the form within the specified deadline.
• After submission, download/print the filled form & payment receipt for future reference. -
Further Process
• Once submitted, wait for admit card / exam schedule as per notification.
• Participate in the selection process (written test, physical tests, verification) as specified
Exam Pattern
The first step is a written test.

Bonus Points
You can get extra points added to your written exam score if you have certain certificates.
- NCC Certificate:
- ‘C’ Certificate: 3 points
- ‘B’ Certificate: 2 points
- ‘A’ Certificate: 1 point
- Bharat Scout & Guide Certificate: 1 point
- Note: You can only get points for one of these (either NCC or Scout), not both. You will get the one that gives you more points.
- Aapda Mitra Training: If you have this training certificate, you get 3 extra points.
- Driving License: If you have a valid license to drive a 4-wheeler (like a car), you get 1 extra point.
Syllabus
The written test will only have questions on General Knowledge. The UPPRPB will announce the detailed list of topics (the full syllabus) later.

Preparation Tips
- Study General Knowledge: The written test is only on GK. Start studying history, geography, current events, and facts about Uttar Pradesh.
- Start Running Now: The running test is long and needs practice. Start training now to build your stamina. Don’t wait until the last minute.
- Get Your Papers Ready: Make sure you have your 10th-grade marksheet, your Domicile certificate (proof of where you live), and your caste/EWS certificate (if you have one).
- Check for Bonus Points: If you have an NCC certificate or a car driving license, keep them ready. They can give you extra points.
Admit Card and Result
All information about the exam, including dates for document checks and physical tests, will be posted on the official UPPRPB website. You will download your admit card from this website. The results and final selection lists will also be posted on the same website.
