Question 1:

An MP or a member of the Legislative Assembly can be elected President, but

एक सांसद अथवा विधान सभा का सदस्य राष्ट्रपति निर्वाचित हो सकता है, परंतु 

• एक सांसद चुनाव लड़ सकता है, परंतु विधान सभा का सदस्य नहीं । An MP can contest the election, but not a member of the Legislative Assembly. 

• निर्वाचित होने के तुरंत उपरांत अपनी सदस्यता छोड़नी होगी। he has to resign his membership immediately after being elected.

• अपने निर्वाचन से 6 माह के अंदर अपनी सदस्यता छोड़नी होगी। he has to resign his membership within 6 months of his election.

• चुनाव लड़ने से पूर्व उसे अपनी सदस्यता से त्यागपत्र देना होगा । he has to resign from his membership before contesting the election.
