Both papers will be Computer-Based Tests (CBE) with multiple-choice questions. The questions will be in both Hindi and English.

Negative Marking
Be careful when you answer. There is negative marking for wrong answers:
Paper-I: You will lose 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
Paper-II: You will lose 1 mark for every wrong answer.
SSC JE 2025 Detailed Syllabus
The standard of the engineering questions will be at the level of a Diploma in Engineering.
Paper-I (Common Subjects)
General Intelligence & Reasoning: Questions on problem-solving, analysis, analogies, differences, visual memory, decision-making, and relationship concepts.
General Awareness: Questions on current events, India and its neighbors, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, and Scientific Research.
General Engineering (Paper-I & Paper-II)
Part-A (Civil Engineering): Building Materials, Estimating, Costing and Valuation, Surveying, Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics, Irrigation Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Theory of Structures, Concrete Technology, RCC Design, Steel Design.
Part-B (Electrical Engineering): Basic concepts, Circuit law, Magnetic Circuit, AC Fundamentals, Measurement and Measuring instruments, Electrical Machines, Synchronous Machines, Generation, Transmission and Distribution, Estimation and Costing, Utilization and Electrical Energy, Basic Electronics.
Part-C (Mechanical Engineering): Theory of Machines and Machine Design, Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials, Thermal Engineering (Laws of Thermodynamics, IC Engines, Boilers, Refrigeration cycles, etc.), Fluid Mechanics & Machinery (Hydraulic Turbines, Centrifugal Pumps, etc.), and Production Engineering (Welding, Casting, Machining, etc.).
Admit Card
You will not receive your Admit Card by post or email. You must download it from the SSC website.
About 10 days before the exam, you can check your exam city and date.
You can download the final Admit Card 3-4 days before your exam.
Result and Final Selection
Your final selection is based on your total marks from both Paper-I and Paper-II.
To even be considered, you must get the minimum qualifying marks (UR: 30%, OBC/EWS: 25%, Others: 20%).
After the final result is out, the department you are assigned to will contact you for Document Verification.
