Exam Pattern & Selection Process
A major policy shift has been introduced for TRE 4.0 regarding Domicile.
New Domicile Policy
- 85% Reservation: Approximately 85% of seats are now reserved exclusively for residents of Bihar (Domicile holders).
- 15% Open Seats: Only ~15% of seats (Unreserved category) are open to candidates from other states.
- Women’s Reservation:
- Class 1–5: 50% reservation for female candidates.
- Other Categories: 35% reservation.

- Part I (Language) Criteria: This section is Qualifying only. You must score a minimum of 30% (9 marks). These marks usually do not count toward the final merit list (depending on specific exam rules), but failing this section disqualifies the rest of the paper.
- Negative Marking: There is No Negative Marking
- Question Type: Objective Type (Multiple Choice Questions).

- Document Verification (DV): Strict verification of Domicile and STET/CTET certificates.
- Medical Examination.
Process to Download Admit Card
- Visit the official BPSC website: bpsc.bih.nic.in or onlinebpsc.bihar.gov.in.
- Log in using your Username and Password (created during registration).
- Look for the “Upload Photo” tab on the dashboard. (BPSC usually requires uploading a fresh passport-size photo (25kb) before downloading).
- Once the photo is uploaded, the “Written Admit Card Download” button will appear.
- Click to download the PDF.
- Print Two Copies: One for the exam center (to be signed and submitted) and one for yourself.
Shift Timings & City Centres
- Exam Centres: The exam is conducted across various districts in Bihar (e.g., Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga).
- Shift Timings:
- Single Shift: 12:00 PM to 02:30 PM.
- Entry Gate Closing: 11:00 AM (1 hour before exam).
- Note: If multiple shifts are required, Shift 1 is typically 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM and Shift 2 is 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM.
Important Documents to Carry
Candidates must bring the following to the exam center:
- Admit Card: 2 Copies (One Extra Copy is mandatory for submission to the invigilator).
- Photo ID Proof: Original Aadhaar Card (Linked with mobile is preferred), PAN Card, or Voter ID.
- Passport Size Photos: 2 recent photos (same as uploaded in the form).
- Blue/Black Ball Point Pen.
- Domicile Certificate: While not needed at the exam center, ensure you have your Residence Certificate (Niwas Praman Patra) ready for the Document Verification stage, as it is now mandatory for reservation.
Instructions for Candidates
- Reach the center 2 hours before the exam. Gates close exactly 1 hour before the start time.
- Facial recognition and biometric thumb impressions will be captured at the center.
- Do not use whiteners, blades, or erasers on the OMR sheet; this will lead to disqualification.
- Mobile phones, smartwatches, and Bluetooth devices are strictly prohibited.
- You must sign one copy of the Admit Card in front of the invigilator and hand it over before leaving the hall.
What Next After the Exam
- Provisional Answer Key: Released by BPSC within 1–2 weeks on the official website.
- Objection Window: Candidates can challenge incorrect answers by paying a fee.
- Final Answer Key & Result: Published after reviewing objections.
- District Allocation: Successful candidates will be allocated districts based on merit and vacancy.
- Counselling & Orientation: 2-week orientation (Induction Training) at BRC/DIET centers before joining schools.
